So...high speed, portable, wireless connectivity is the wave of the future and is what people are demanding.

Sprint comes out with the first device in these fair United States that can do that, with UNLIMITED bandwidth(4g), on the nation's FIRST 4g network, and its an epic fail? I'm sorry that Sprint wants to be a tad bit more diversified than just coming out with the latest and greatest phone. 🙄

This is pretty cool. I think if Sprint/Clear had 4G coverage in my area I would get it from Clear with no contract though.

I definitely would as well. The Sacramento area isn't scheduled to get 4g until sometime in 2011 from what Ive read 😢

I know! Waiting til 2011, that's tough!!

Well, I guess the snapdragon processor and 3D graphics will be the big deal for 2010, or at least in my opinion, and 4G networks will be the big deal for 2011. Just a prediction.

If Sacramento won't have Wi-Max until 2011, we may never have it here. Sprint doesn't care about rural markets (not that I blame them).

Sprint is headed for financial suicide. WiMAX is the 21st century version of IDEN and it's a standard that will never have any domestic roaming partners. Luckily for Sprint the migration LTE won't be that difficult but will it be too late.

Of what? Everything is speculation. We know that Sprint has a backup plan to switch Wi-Max to LTE if it becomes necessary. I hope it does not. I believe it is in the best interests of consumers that we not slip into a Duopoly of just AT&T and VZW.

Dan Hesse! I didn't know you were on Phone Scoop. Nice to have you!

No seriously, Sprint is doing some great things. I think a lot of the other companies are thinking about the now and Sprint is trying to ensure their future...which is smart. If you really think about it, Sprint is doing what they should do as a Service Provider...they are enhancing the service side of things. Take AT&T for example. They say they offer the best Smart Phones...but 1. They aren't in the business of selling phones, they are a service provider. We'd see an improvement in their service if they actually focused on that. 2. They may have the best smart phones, but the network can't handle it.

On the other end though...Sprint may have the first 4G network, bu...

Don't hate because your stuck on 3g, Ive ditched comcast for 4g and the speeds are unbelievable. I ran a speed test and was consistently getting 5-7mb download, and when I travel I still get a reliable 3G connection, couldn't be any happier. Way to be ahead of the game sprint.

...I'm pretty sure I was giving Sprint their credit...

Learn the difference between "Your" and "You're."

LTE is going to be faster...

Any reason they cannot have a Wi-Max/LTE device manufactured in the future if it became necessary?

There is no reason why they couldn't...but remember how price effects people's willingness to buy. iDEN devices were always expensive with less feature because it could only be made for one company. Remember the hybrid phones...also expensive.

LTE devices will be cheaper because you've got three major US carriers who will utilize them. WiMAX, however, could be the next iDEN in the fact that one company will be using it...drives prices up IMO.

HERE HERE!! i have sprint and i love there coverage and on the other hand i work for AT&T, they say they have the best Smart Phones but in all reallity they kinda done, they have good coverage and 3g network but like Jeffdabeat said they dont have the phones to back it up. I get calls all day long regarding the touchscreen is out/3g net working coverage isnt working right/my smart phone wont pick up the 3g network, ive never had a problem with sprints net work or coverage unless im in "chickenville" out in bfe! but other then that i love sprint!!
