Too bad...

Google did not take this opportunity to offer the phone at the retail price only. This is a step in the right direction. Someday someone will have the stones to say, "If you want this phone...pay for it. Period."

Until I get a break on service fees for using non subsidized phones, whats the point of buying full price?

Tmob is the only one has had the stones to do this.

Why pay $600, then pay the same monthly fees as some clown who got his phone for $200. No real gain there.

Hopefully these companies will follow tmob and offer discounts to people who want to pay full price for the device and get a break on monthly service fees. I hope this is the future of cell carriers (atleast short term)

I like the the T-Mobile Even More Plus model greatly. I think it would be great if other carriers followed suit and offered discounted rate plans, but it is not going to happen because the other carriers ENJOY providing subsidies in exchange for contracts. They don't want to change the model.

I've been mulling this over and if Google is charging the $350 ETF then why is T-Mobile charging one at all? More importantly, what happens with Verizon? Are they going to want to charge their $350 ETF on top of Goggle's? This thing is getting crazy. If the carrier is not taking the hit on the subsidy then there should be no ETF with the carrier.
