tried capacitive screen on acer liquid, capacitive screen really suck!
capacitive works ONLY on finger when resistive works on finger, AND nail, AND stylus! why would you want to limit your option for input?

It's a lot smoother. I also prefer capacitive because I'm always afraid I'll break a resistive screen

Not to mention on a device that size there is no real reason to use a nail or a stylus(even though there was recently a stylus designed for capacitive touch screen)
Most everything is very finger friendly, and I have pretty big hands.

I hated the fact that my old phone would turn on with any button.

As you said, choice is good. But if a phone tried being everything to anybody, it will always feel half done to everyone.

I think we may have found RIM someone who might be interested in this product:

It's a patent for a resistive screen laid over-top of a capacitive screen. It retains the responsiveness of capacitive technology with the stylus functionality of a resistive screens.

As for WinMo, take a closer look at v6.5. WinMo is clearly posturing for a capacitive environment of manufacturing. Your resistive days may be numbered- far more people prefer capacitive displays.

i using wm6.5, it works PERFECTLY FINE on resistive screen. why move to capacitive gargabe that limit your choice!, work only with finger and must press "power" to wakeup phone.

I dont understand your "choice argument"....resistive is drastically different for the use of fingers and actually limits what you can do--providing you with a lesser choice.

Resistive is really only worthwhile for a stylus. So if you want to use a stylus, get a resistive touchscreen. That way, you and the other 12 people in the U.S. can stop complaining about capacitive screens.

Stop you the "choice" argument, because no one is clamoring for resistive screens but you.
