I was already confused when trying to decide between the Droid and Pre after my Verizon contract runs out next month, now I have another possible option if I wait just a while longer.

Droid will most likely have 2.1 sometime this month, so don't worry about software choices there.. between the two, you'll just have to choose what form factor you want. the Nexus is a sexy looking phone, but I think I would still choose the droid, just because of the keyboard (for how much people, including me, rag on it.. It does what it needs to)

As for the pre, unless they make a larger phone, WEBOS is a non-starter for me.. my big fingers can't handle those keys.

Or an N900 if you aren't afraid to get your hands into some code.

I heard from more than one source that the Xperia has been underwhelming... something about the GUI that Sony developed being even worse than "cube" from Samsung.

I really like Maemo but Android is really sweet - anything to take Apple down.

I thought that was a fairly reasonable price. Quite a bit cheaper than the comparable x10 will be.

Yeah, I think that both the contract & no contract prices are fine.

I sure would like to have a phone that is IDENTICAL to the Nexus One with the addition of a slide out keyboard!!! I'm not a big fan of ALL touch phones.

I didnt think I'd like all touch phones either, but I find my hero is as useable as my bold for most things.
