If you buy it unlocked, can this be used on Sprint network?

I do not think so. CDMA does not work like that. CDMA carriers "load" ESNs and MEIDs and if Sprint does not sell this device then they won't allow it on their network.

Was this documented somewhere? I only saw it was coming to Verizon, and Verizon phones won't work on Sprint.

No, it will not. It is a GSM phone, and Sprint doesn't run a GSM network. As dshearn pointed out, there will be a CDMA version that can be purchased. It will be designed for Verizon, but i imagine it will work for Sprint as well.

Everything that I have read states this phone will not work on Sprint Network. Anyone have any sources to where they got this information from?

It will not work with Sprint, as mentioned earlier Sprint/Verizon load the ESNs of the handsets they sell onto their systems and you cannot activate an ESN that the system does not recognize.
