Well, the government also taxes me for its wasteful military expenditures and all sorts of other wasteful things that COULD be reigned in, but they don't. They taxed me during the Bush & Reagan eras, too.
Listen, the government's always going to tax us for things we don't agree with and would rather not have our money spent on. We don't really get to pick and choose exactly what every red cent we pay in taxes is used for. So get used to it and quit your whining.
