They been armstronging everyone down to their employees and how they do business. Verizon is pretty much the Wal-Mart of wireless. They bully suppliers and indirects. I am glad that the FCC is stepping in. I am not much of government intervention but sometimes these corporation have HUGE egos and need to be smacked down to be in line.

For those who said to un-regulate things, we did that with Wall Street and look at the mess we are in.. Corruption, munipilation, and the top 1% gets richer. If Verizon got their way you won't be able to use future data, or wireless service without hefty fees or restrictions.

we didn't "unregulate wallstreet."

we gave a TON of money to government run loan companies, signed LAWS making it harder to deny loans to people with poor credit, and then told these investment firms that they were "too big to fail." aka, all risk would be assumed by the government. When you tell a company that there is no risk to them, of COURSE they are going to go to the riskiest loans because those have the highest payout.

The Free market isn't what caused the loan/credit crisis, government "protection." did.

If those companies were assuming all risk for their loans, you can bet they wouldn't do half of what they did.

I belive the Bush admistration un-regulated wall street sector causing the crash due to corruption and easy loop holes without the checks and balances.

Government did cause this, when Bush was running the country you are absolutely right!

I dont think you've said anything that actually applies to this topic. I'm sure there is a more appropriate venue for you to rant about how VZW treats their employees.

It was actually during clintons administration that they signed laws that basically told banks that the had to loan to high risk clients. But it wasn't one man. There was a gop congress so both parties are at fault.

And we've been underwriting businesses for years and blaiming the free market when it fails.

Seriously, how long are people gonna play that "its bush's fault"

They'll do it until they have a different Republican to blame. Everything is politics, and no Democrat can ever be responsible for anything bad- no matter what evidence is presented to them.

If they can't buy their way out of a problem with pork, they'll just blame the last Republican POTUS, and that's one thing that won't change any time soon.

I recommend anyone here to watch 911 Loose Change, and you tell me that Bush family line doesn't have anything to hide.

I recommend you stop believing every piece of left wing propoganda you see. You probably believe Michael Moore's films are actually documentary in nature too.

And this is still outside the scope of the conversation. Bush had nothing to do with Verizon's ETF policy, either setting it or the government investigating it. Here in reality you can't place the blame on one man's feet for every perceived injustice in the world.

Why bash the Democrats? The last 2 recessions have both been caused by Trickle Down Economics (Republicanism or better yet, Reaganomics in the 1980s and now). When you give tax breaks to big business and the top tier tax bracket, they don't invest in expansion causing more employment, they invest in Walstreet and in Real Estate with in turn caused both to boom and then bust. Reaganomics is great in theory, but it doesn't work. It is the right wing version of Communism. Both in theory should work and help the people, but they don't take into account human flaws, i.e. greed, power lust, etc.

As long as no one calls them on it. Everyone always blames the figurehead. Nevermind that there are 435 Representatives in the House who have the "checkbook". They don't have to rubber-stamp these guy's budgets. In any event...let's move on.
