Maybe this LTE thing is more than a figment of my imagination after all!

Ha, that's funny! Sure would be nice to know what speeds they're getting over there!!! I betcha their government isn't as limited as ours is when it comes to how much power the cell sites can put out.

That's the excuse Clear gives me as to why WiMAX doesn't put out much, much faster speeds, because the FCC limits how much power the cell towers can put out.

The FCC is 👿 !!!

See, my thing is everyone is excited about LTE, but I've yet to hear what the real world speeds will be. I guess I'll keep waiting...

What we need to do is find a website in Stockholm that is like Phone Scoop, and pay their forums a visit.

Oh right, oh right, here'ya go, it's not in English, but you can see where there are mentionings of 50mbits & 80mbits, aka 10x faster than Clear's WiMAX! ! !

Here's your answer,
42.78mbps, with an evil 30gb data limit, and a whopping $85USD a month price tag!

I certainly hope Verizon doesn't screw those of us in the U.S. with an evil data limit when they deploy LTE next year!

FYI,their government highly regulates power from cell phone towers and all transmission technologies. Cell phone transmission power is a world wide international standard. Otherwise you would have interference and health risks..

I'll take 50+ mbps anyday over cancer!!!

So if high powered cell towers are a cancer risk, then how are we EVER?, EVER? going to get to the point of 80/100mbps???

You don't need extra power to get higher speed, that's not how it works. Wait until you get cancer, you'll regret that thinking...I know..

So since you say extra power isn't necessary to higher speeds than why isn't WiMAX living up to it's FULL potential? I'm referring to something like 75mbps that WiMAX is capable of.

But those are WiMax's theoretical speeds, not their real world speeds.
