Cabling and believe it or not, the boxes have something to do with it too sometimes. Cox uses motorola boxes and I go through them more often than I should have too.
In my area, we use the Scientific Atlanta boxes. They're much better.
I used to work for Technical Support for the Southern California region... I left there this year in June....
I'm calling to swap boxes. Hope it's free, but i doubt it. Really appreciate it, thought their fiber optics were faulty. 😁

That freezing and pixelation happened to me twice in the last 3 years. Both times I called customer service they checked their end out, then the first time they sent a guy out to check the home wiring which was fine. He told me to swap the box and problem was solved.
The second time after calling them, they told me to swap the box. problem fixed again!
All was done free 😁
