FCC Taking On Verizon's New ETF
Verizon's just trying keep people from porting...
The whole "cost of phones" excuse is BS because their earnings prove that losing money obviously hasn't been an issue for them thus far.
The subsidy is there so they can offer all phones under 200, and offer bogos without people setting up 4 line family shares to get phones, paying early terms, and making a nice profit by selling the phones.
And just because they aren't in the Red doesn't mean they aren't looking at ways to cut costs.
to stop this issue, verizon would either need to increase the price of the phones, or increase early term. they went with what will affect the fewest people.

Actually, if they are doing it to combat the BOGO/cancel activity, they could just double the ETFs on BOGO deals.
I never understand this complaint.... You get 300-400 off a BB, Droid, Windows device then you should have to pay it back if you cancel....especially if you do the current promo and get two Eris's for $100.....that is $800-$900 off!
My only complaint would be how they prorate, should be a little steeper etf discount when in the last few months
