Should I wait for this update?
As of now, I am not too impressed with the Droid, and I am considering exchanging it for either the BB Storm 2 or the Samsung Omnia 2.
Does anyone know if this fix that is coming will stop programs from starting and running in the background, even though I have not opened them? The corporate calendar and Google Talk service seem to always be running, and I do not use either of them.

Really?! Just look up some of the apps thats you can use to manage your apps. A great one is taskiller. You can set it up to ignore specific apps if you need to keep them open or have it close everything right from a widget on you screen. I owned an omnia and while it is an awesome device on paper it was hindered by stupid windows mobile. The storm 2 is pretty good but I prefer the Droid.
