It's the dumbing down & it's working...

Apparently they're also teaching them how to not think for themselves or expect the right to personal privacy.

Perhaps when they see the government begin arresting people for speaking out about the evils that others in power are committing then they will re-think their stance upon this issue of privacy. By then it will be too late for change and reform without a bloody revolution.

WAKE UP AMERICA YOUR FREEDOM IS BEING TAKEN AWAY AND YOU'RE DOING NOTHING ABOUT IT!

well with the patriot act, the government can listen in on anyone's phone calls that they deem suspicious, which can be anyone at anytime. The government also control the majority of the media, showing images that entice panic and fear, so you never see the true story. If anyone speaks out against Obama, they are called a racist even if they are just calling him ignorant and inexperienced. You do not have a choice as to whether or not you want to wear a seat belt or helmet in most states...... the list goes on.

The patriot act was rammed through by conservatives.

Please document how the gov't controls the media.

The rest of your rant is meaningless, you can't document and doesn't have anything to do with rights - except the right to call you whatever I want - ie, free speech.

Gladly.

Freedom of Speech:

Peaceful Protesters during the G20 meeting in Pittsburg a couple months ago were subjected to police brutality, arrests and "Sound tanks" that emits piercing sound, which forces people to disperse from an area.
New hate crime laws are being passed to essentially make it a crime to say anything that is "hurtfull" to anyone, regardless of the race.
Bills are being introduced to censor what you can see and read about on the internet. Only "Licensed Bloggers" will be able to post information on the internet.

Freedom of Privacy, Illegal Search and seizure:

Cops are illegally searching peoples homes and cars without probable cause. They are using the Patriot Act as their way of doing this, which is ...

Abuses by law enforcement are serious and should be prosecuted. Once again, thank conservatives for the Patriot act.

Licenced bloggers - talk doesn't equal action.

Predictions are ... uh, if you're so accurate at predicting, why aren't you rich?

The climate change emails don't document anything. Scientists who doubt climate change say that. Right wing wackos take them out of context, and they nothing about scientific debate or research. Oh, yes - what is the benefit to faking global warming?

A scientist who documented that there has been about a 5 year period of stable temperatures is an ardent beliver in global warming, and says the stable period doesn't disprove it.

Do you honestly believe conservatives are the only ones to blame for the Patriot Act? Your hero Obama pledged over and over during his campaign to end the Patriot Act when he got into office. Now that here's there, not only has he kept it, he is backing the renewal of the 3 worst provisions in it. If you want to read about it yourself:

Your right about talk not equaling action. Talk prevents and CONTROLS action or in certain cases encourages action. With the governments ability to control information on TV and soon on the internet, we will be no better off than Communist China...Except at least there, people are smart enough to KNOW that the government is controlling the me...

"I'm sorry Mrs Jones, we can't use the GPS in your missing daughters phone to help track her down. Someone on the internet didn't understand that they were concerned about privacy that they could just shut the feature off".

Go back to sleep and sleep well. The world isn't half as bad as the fearmongers would have you believe.
