Damn this dudes are smart.
I can actually see this being used on a regular. Especially like small business users.
Example: Pizza delivery instead of giving your credit card over the phone they would just come with their company cell phone and just swiped the card as they hand you the pizza and you get your confirmation...
I think this is what this article is explaining.

Pizza deliver, perfect example!

Um, no. This device is a HUGE waste. Pizza delivery (and other deliverers) already have mobile devices to accept credit cards at your home or office location. You can also order online or call-in with your card number and not worry about payment at the time of delivery. Second, most retail 'brick and mortar' stores already have a card reader machine. There is a VERY limited market for this, and it's isolated in the U.S.
I'm sorry but I see this product and investors' money going down the drains. $10 million dollars investment by a venture company? Holy god what were they thinking?

My hobby is making jewelry (more of an obsession than a hobby, really), and this would be a GREAT tool to use at craft shows. Especially since it's free, and other options are expensive for someone like me who's doing this on their own.
I wonder how many people thought twitter was a waste of time and money - and now I am getting sales on my websites from tweeting my items!
I say let's give it a chance. 🙂

This technology is a blessing and a curse. Nice that it is now available, but I forsee problems with identity theft / stolen cards. What if they put a Paypal button on the Square?

Yeah I was thinknig about that as well. But at the same time I know that they will work the kinks out before approval of the FCC so i have no worrys now.
