I think NYC would be last because of the people there. They want to make sure its stable before the release, IMO. They would have to make sure it can handle the heavy usage.

Just gather up the top 500 heavy bandwith users over the nation put them under 1 WiMax site and watch the sparks fly. If it holds up to 500 people constantly downloading and playing bandwith hog games if it lives its good

That's kinda funny! Damn good thing WiMax utilizes multiple input multiple output technology, that enables each tower to handle more users at once.

I wonder if wimax will throttle connections if someone is a bandwith hog? Like dsl/sat/cable where they will throttle the connection due to over use?

I don't know. I'm not a gamer. But the largest file I have ever downloaded was a 1.08GB file of the Engadget Show, that took 90 minutes to download, I'll let you determine whether or not that was a good download time for a 1.08GB file.

I remember reading a while back when Clearwire was being launched that they will indeed throttle back heavy users that are constantly streaming videos or downloading. I'm not hearing lately regarding this but it was quite the issue back then. All I know is that Time Warner will resell this as their Road Runner Mobile in Hawaii so I will wait to see what happens when everything is running and in full use.

I do watch a lot of video, I don't know if I qualify as a "heavy user", my first billing period I used 36GB's. I watch 3 shows regularly on Hulu, news clips, and porn.

So would you consider 36GB's a "heavy user"?
Right now I have 14 days left in my billing cycle and have used 21GB's thus far.
