Wow... entire carriers have been purchased for similar prices, and these guys are putting the money into it's network alone...

Highly unlikely. If you've paid attention to the telecom industry at all you know that Sprint has faced situations much worse than they do know. The long distance battles of the 1980s with Sprint, MCI, and AT&T were much worse than the cell competition now- and Sprint was clearly inferior to the other two. Yet Sprint is still here- and making far more money than they were back then.

Will Sprint ever rival Verizon, or even AT&T for number of customers? Not likely. But then, I don't know that should even be Sprint's goal. There is room for more than two companies out there. Heck, there's probably room for 5 or 6 is people would just stay within their means. Not everyone can be the biggest- but then not everyone wants to deal with Verizon o...
