I don't think they have anything plan, because if I'm not mistaking, Sprint always had and use their area but just bought them out so seize their control.

I think the two immediate advantages are:

1) Sprint can now hold onto the Nextel assets in the IPCS region

2) Can go forward with WiMax in those regions as well.

Good. iPCS pushing back against Nextel in their markets was one thing. Standing in the way of Wi-Max was unacceptable.

the obvious advantage will be to bridge the gaps with towers. Both companies left a gap of no reception around select areas in hopes that the other company would fill it in. Now corporate can fill them in. Wi_max is a plus for Chicago. That's about it. I don't see cedar rapids, IA getting it anytime soon...
