I think YOU are the stupid American. None of this is referring to voice. CDMA data or EVDO, is a 3G technology that transmits data similar to 1xRTT voice channel. You can drop a data call just like a voice call. Your data call can also be blocked if there is not an open data channel.

This is incorrect. Well for some Alltel mergeries 😛 The merger killed my recpetion. i was forced into 1X for a few months.... ☚ī¸ and dropped 95% of my calls regardless of area all over South Carolina. never dropped one with sprint yet, or alltel. ( even after updating PRL's and getting Hybrid prl's put on. ) ☚ī¸

Posts like this make me glad I work for multiple carriers.
These forums are filled with fanboys of a single carrier that will make claims about price and a phone when something completely different is being argued.

Also, grammar helps.

I agree with the OP an I people take the time to understand clearly what verizon is argueing.

Sprint claim is that it has the most dependable 3G network.

The claim here is that Sprint 3G data service is more dependable than other carriers. Now this is the quote from Verizon's aguement:

"According to the AP, The division said the most recent tests by the researcher Nielsen Co. showed Verizon had fewer calls blocked or dropped than Sprint."

Verizon is argueing apples while Sprint is claiming Oranges. Sprint's claim of having the most dependable 3G network has NOTHING to do with voice coverage to argue "fewer calls blocked or dropped

Its nothing but silly little competition. Blahzay blahzay etc. We all know that Sprint's data coverage is whicked good just like Verizons BUT...for about a quarter cheaper. Let them say what they want. If you dont like it, switch carriers
