"Verizon Challenges Sprint's 'Most Dependable' Ad Claims"

Verizon isnt' bashing Sprint. They just want Sprint to prove what they are claiming. If they can't prove it then they should drop the advertising.

It's not whining. If someone claims that they are better than you at something, wouldn't you want them to prove it?

It's whining. Dependability is a subjective term...JUST like reliability. Verizon may be the most relianle in Manhattan, but not in Montgomery, Alabama. Sprint is doing nothing wrong. VZW is foul!

Yeah, I have to agree. You can't go after someone on a subjective term.

You mean like "Nations "fastest" 3g network?

Or when ATT tried suing verizon for their claims on reliable coverage saying that reliable had to include speed?

Is the suit stupid? Yeah, but it's at least got some basis to it.

Verizon is cleverly trying to parry info to the ad organization by confusing them.

Verizon's claim to them:
America's Most Reliable Network. We have less dropped/blocked calls.

Sprint's claim:
Nation's Most Dependablle 3G Network.

Voice calls are NOT transmitted through CDMA 3G. So what gives? Reliable and dependable, by definition, do mean the same thing. However, the claims are clearly different in truth.

While Verizon's network may offer less dropped calls(again not 3G), Sprint's "Native 3G" Data has been proven by many, to be more dependable for speed and solid performance than the other carriers.

I believe Verizon is now taking advantage of the Judge's ruling from the Verizon/AT&T fiasco, that confusion in advertising,...

I believe they are referring to data calls not being blocked/dropped. Data transmits over an EVDO channel (3G) similarly to the 1XRTT voice channel (2.5G). You can drop your data connection traveling down the highway just as a voice call.
