Too bad they are GSM though. Nokia, not their el-cheapo Pantech brand, needs to produce more CDMA phones because CDMA is much more superior than GSM from the get-go.

Actually, yes I was. Without getting into the specifics underlying each technology, a few things are at play, from the end user standpoint.

* In terms of proliferation, GSM is better than CDMA.

* In terms of quality of connections and data transfer rates, at least in the continental US, CDMA overtakes GSM. In the US, GSM works great mostly in large metropolitan areas. Outisde of these areas and in rural areas, GSM is either spotty or non-existant. CDMA, on the other hand, is strong in large metro areas and in rural areas even if it might drop to it's lower speed variant for data. Voice service coverage remains virtually unchanged.

Nokia is a Finnish company. It is based in Finland, for those who are not aware of it. Finland is a country in northern Europe.

Now that we got the geography lesson out of the way, GSM has a large proliferation in Europe so most of Nokia phones are produced for GSM networks.

For US and Asian markets, Nokia's low-end brand, Pantech exists. And as far as US market is concerned, Nokia holds a very small part of it mainly due to Blackberry, iPhone, various Windows Mobile devices, as well as Android-based devices.

You need to wake up and read my post more carefully. I never stated that most popular Nokia phones are CDMA. I know they are all GSM. And their express music phones are straight-up garbage. You need to check your grammar, too, because you don't seem to know the difference between 'there' and 'their'.
