This ad fail in so many ways!!!

-Fastest Nation 3G? HaHaHa! its a miracle it even works!!!! they should brag about their edge instead!

-Talk & Text at the same time?? who the heck cares

-Popular smartphones? yea right, well....maybe one only.

-100,000 apps??? and not even 1/3rd of them people use.

Good Luck AT&T. Verizon can actually sue you guys for misleading with "Fastest 3G" lol. Time to spend some money and not be throwing lies like u always do.

Remember?? More bar in more places? Fewest drop calls? all those ads were lies!

Their 3G network does work incredibly fast where it works, and for me and most people it does cover them. Nearly all other places I have ever gone, more of their phones offer WiFi than Verizon.

And it's not Talk and Text simultaneously, it's talk and surf the web simultaneously, so if you are on a phone call and using, and you are using a bluetooth earpiece (which AT&T Wireless/Cingular offered years before Verizon) it is very simple to also read your email, or surf the web to get the information you want, without having to end your phone call. Not bad stuff at all.

Oh, and you don't have to be using a Bluetooth, it just allows you to talk while looking at your phone, instead of pulling it away from your head and moving it back and f...

EXACTLY as far as talking and web browsing...really? that seems like an excercise in how to ignore people when your talking to them....." Im tired of all these ignorant responses. First of all is someone has wifi at home through thier own network why shouldn't they be able to use it. If I have a 12mbps internet connection I would be stupid not to connect when I'm at home. Verizon is not faster than all wifi, maybe a 1268kbps connection at the most. Everyone is talking about how talking and web browsing is STUPID well its STUPID if you can't. I enjoy talking on my bluetooth on lunch fo...

most people through wifi DO NOT have a faster connection, grats that you do, all i am saying is your paying for data per month anyway....why is it so important to have wifi if your already paying for independant internet, man you people really love your phones but if i had AT&T here i coulldnt make a phonecall never mind data and i live less than a half hr from a big city, retarded is the word my friend, break the brainwwashing young AT&T people verizon will accept you despite your poor judgement of the past! 😁

Last time I checked multiple phones allowed you to talk and surf the web at the same time. I belive 99% of the phones on the market have speaker phone and while many can't multifunction almost all the smartphones can. I can do this with my Storm that I have on Verizon!

Wifi with a good connection to a cable service is faster than 3G for starters. Second, if you look at Verizon's map, you'll note that it doesn't cover "Everywhere" as you claim. Right here, eight miles from where I'm sitting there is No verizon coverage, however Comcast provides service to the area. That would be a great place to take advantage of wifi while browsing in bed or watching a game.

there is a reason they have phones with WiFi. because there 3G suck and they think these people thing we are giving them more options when its just a failing company. they have one phone and one only that people like. the Iphone and the contract is almost up. that why ATT is trying to find loop hole in Apples contract and they cant. soon as Iphone leave so will all their customers.

Alot of people will disagree with this but I believe Sprint has been proven to have the fastest 3G network. Verizon has the best wire to wire coverage with speeds right behind sprint and where it works T-mobile is faster than AT&T where I am at least. So they should really stop the false ads like seriously. They might bstart losing market share with all that misleading info.

No, AT&T has the fastest 3G Network. The technology is faster than Verizon. The thing is, Verizon has their speeds in a larger footprint...so it's more consistent.

Not to bicker, but...

HSPA 7.2 will beat EVDO REV A
That is a FACT (Sprint/VZW have EVDO Rev A)

HSPA 21 (T-Mobile) beats HSPA 7.2 (AT&T)
however, its nowhere near a national level yet (100 markets the definition?)

If anyone would have the claim for fastest 3G, it would be T-Mobile.

The article linked was done by a third party source (Novarum/PCWorld) in June 2009.

Theoretically HSPA is faster. In test envornments, it is faster. It also has better burst potential. Those times do not reflect what the real world experience is.

PCWorld documented their real world experience and EVDO Rev. A, whether on Sprint or VZW is faster in most major metro areas.

If you would like further evidence Wired.com gathered statistics and indicated VZW was fastest and AT&T the slowest.

•AT&T's download rates obliterate the other guys. Seriously, it's not even close.
•AT&T's upload rates are the strongest, though T-Mobile and Verizon held pretty close here.
•Each carrier's average latency was right around 150ms, which will undoubtedly make online gamers (snipers, in particular) weep.
•Sprint and Verizon's WWAN management software was far superior than that of AT&T and T-Mobile, and considering that T-Mobile's app won't run on a Mac yet, it gets yet another strike against it.
•As always, your miles (or data rates, as it were) may vary depending on location, network saturation, wind speed and amount of fairy dust in your pocket, but we're pretty confident these data are a solid gu

I apologize I didn't state I was mainly talking about downrate. It seems everyone else was talking about downrate as well. Good call on the upload being faster.

If we want to point at something else in the PCWorld article the 'reliability' section, which AT&T didn't do very well with.

Ah, when it comes to the big 4, their networks are no better at the end of 2009 then they were a year ago, or even 2. This time next year will be a different story though with Verizon deploying LTE in 20-30 market, and Clear will have over 100m people covered with REAL broadband speeds.

Yeah, 2009 was a bust. Back in March AT&T was promising 3.6 deployment across the map with 7.2mbps in some markets. 2010 was supposed to start have 14.4mbps by summer. Now it's sounding like they may simply skip the 14.4mbps deployment in favor of new tech.

It probably won't be til the 2nd half of 2011 at the soonest that ATT will start concetrating on LTE. So if someone wants what I consider TRUE mobile broadband, the only options will be Clear, and next year Verizon will be deploying LTE. ATT will be left in the dust.

The commercial was a fail IMO. The commercial really shows no excitement. and with verizon showing the map it seem more factual even though at&t's commercial was factual as well. The map is visual which just seem more like a "Hard" obvious fact versus what at&t did. In the at&t commercial it just seem like it was beating around the bush type of facts. Like the most popular smartphone part, like are you serious? thats lame to say when your COUNTER ATTACKING.

Everybody knows a counter attack has to be more fatal then the initial hit your opponent hit you with to send a over-shadowing impression to the judges (The Consumer)..

Thats just my opinion. 😎

So yes the commercial makes valid points but this is not a lecture its a campaign. y...

EXACTLY! Most of the customers on that network call in about dropped calls all the time! People have problems with the bars in their area! ONE popular smart phone does not count as more then one! They add bits and pieces to the next model. It is ripping people off if you actually think about it. AT&T is at least trying? I guess you can give them credit for that? But then again they are trying to prove they are good with small facts that don't even matter. It's ridiculous but they are least trying, but not doing very good except they are perfecting in making them seem like complete and total crybabies! HAHA! 🤣

I know this is VERY minor in the whole carrier battle. But I do want to point something out that I think pretty much everyone failed to mention (unless I missed it somewhere)...

You can multitask on one feature with Verizon and I'm sure any other CDMA network. Yes you can talk and text message at the same time. During phone calls you can text all your heart desires but you'll have to simply wait a couple of minutes on your picture message. No you can't surf the web and talk at the same time but who cares?! Even at home with a computer internet connection of 20 Mbps I rarely talk and surf the web. When I'm on the phone I want to concentrate on my phone call.

How bad have we become that we just GOTTA have phone and internet at the ...

Your right. Why take the time to to connect to wifi, or even use internet at the same time. I know everyone isn't going to care for this web use while talking feature. Besides it is only in 3G areas. Well I have a 7 month old son, work full time and my wife works full time and well its nice to be able to multi task. I dont ignore my wife or friend while multi tasking on my phone (using browser and talking) I can multi task very well. I happen to be in a 3G area as well as hundreds of thousands of people in Lansing mi, williamston mi, dewitt mi, I can go on but thats just my area. I have had buisness owners and just employees of buisnesses come into my store very upset that they cannot communicate on thier phone and recieve emails while on th...

From what I hear LTE will support this. I've also heard that a WiFi phone will do voice and data simultaneously, so DROID users will like this. And yes I admit that voice and data is a nice feature but its minor. Its not a good come-back when AT&T is against the largest and most reliable 3G network.

I don't want people to think I'm bashing AT&T with their voice/data ability, I liked it when I was on AT&T. But its just a minor ability. The only real advantage that it allowed was AT&T's Video Share. That was a cool feature. But still a feature I can live without. But if you take away my 3G coverage and I'll have something to fuss about.
