Sprint Pushing Maintenance Update to HTC Hero
Hero Firmware Updated
Just completed OTA Firmware update of my Sprint Hero. The file was 3.748 MB and updated the phone to ver 1.56.651.2. I really can't tell what was updated with these "bug" fixes, but the phone still shows EVDO rev 0, but the speed test test showed 1685kbps down and 592kbps up. With those speeds I'd say the phone is connecting at EVDO rev A even those the phone shows rev 0. I hope we'll see Android 2.0 with the next update. Give it a try, it only takes about 4-5 minutes to download and install the OTA update...

yes!!! just finished the update. i noticed my hero is a little snappier. also there is heptic feedback for the dial pad. Mute and speaker has also been added to the screen during a call, when u had to push menu at first. im sure there is more updated ill notice as i play more with my phone.

I also did the upgrade very early this morning. Must have been about 3:30 am EST.
However, when I tried sending an email with a pic attachment, it was never received by the other person. I tried resending it another 4 times with no luck. I decided to check my SENT folder on my phone, and NOTHING WAS THERE.
I did not tet it much after that. I wiil update when I play with the new update more, tonight. Please let me know if anyone else has this issue.

I just tried getting a firmware update on my Hero, but it says no updates are available. Are they making it available in different areas at different times, or something?
