quote "AT&T claims that data demand in the Bay Area has increased by 2000% since 2008"

if data demand increased by 2000%, why is san francisco get the upgrade in 2010 and not end of 2009 like other cities?? 👿

Cause AT&T has there heads up high in each others asses right now. Pretty sad when my work Nextel has a more reliable signal and way less dropped calls than my iPhone does on AT&T. For some strange reason AT&T doesn't work very hard to improve and upgrade network and speeds here in Cali. ☹️

Not just Cali!!! Its a shot in the dark whether or not my POS iPhone will be useable when I go to pick it up. I should elaborate that it isn't the PHONE itslef that fails...just the network. I just love how I can have the pretty 3G icon and NO DATA flows at all. ATT sucks!

i'm sure the iden network in the bay area isn't nearly as stressed as at&t's network. Especially if what they're saying about the 2000% climb in useage is correct.

about the poster getting upset that the bay area is getting the upgrade in 2010 instead of 2009.....

it's quite possible that the growth rate of useage in other cities is larger than what San Fran is experiencing...

reguardless, 2010 is just a few months away, so I'm not sure why you're complaining.

Man..I remember when it was Cingular years ago in Northern Cali and it was bad, bad, bad. When I was in San Fransisco last year my At&t was pretty spotty, Iden was surprisingly good everywhere we went. I hope it doesn't get any worse ☹️

iDen sucks! the only reason ur getting service is cuz no one is using it!

And the only reason ATT network is where it is cuz APPLE doesnt want to compress data, hence slowing down the entire network!

Then again, without the iPhone, there wouldnt be a 2000% increase in network usage!

There are reasons many first responders use iden and I think 'sucking' is not on the list. If your network can't hack it then it sucks...period. I'll take my working phone over a half-working phone any day.

Cause ATT isn't ambitious that's why.
