850 is often referred to as 800.
Also, 1X and EVDO can operate on either 850 or 1900.
ATT's 3G GSM runs 850, 1900, and 2100. 2100 is solely for one direction, 850 or 1900 for the other direction. This means that an extra radio has to run to run 3G on GSM. Adds a bit more battery drain too.
