how nice HTC wigets are compared to the little clock Samsung has (and others such as calander, music, etc). my questions is if Android is open source wouldnt you be able to adjust the rest of the androids to look like HTC's wigets? HTC has seven home screen slides and Moto Droid and Samsung Moment have 3. So because their open source wouldnt you be able to change it?

hopefully this isnt too stupid of a question 🙂

Well...I suppose if you know enough about coding and such, and the kind of Linux that Android is based off of and so on, you could. And having possesion of the Android SDK would also probably help also. Personally coding is way, way too tedious for me.

Who you telling! I been catching hell tryna code my own custom android UI but the good part about Android is its actually possible! Thats why I love em screw apple I'll take my own custom UI anyday.

Oh well if you know how then good for you, I'm sure it's fun. I heard that the Nokia N900 based off of Maemo is also easily tweakable.

Yea I know enough Linux to tweak around Icons and run scripts but I'm trying to go back to school for some advanced programming and whatnot to try and do what HTC did with sense I want to make a custom UI that doesnt replace whats great in Android but compliments it I'm currently working on my own Hero ROM but I'm doing all the work off the G1's 1.6 SDK with a Rodger's HTC magic Sense UI Dump to see if I can integrate the visual aspects and widget's without compromising features
