Nothing but truth here. At the bottom it says in a year no one will care that ATT had the Iphone.

I was just about to post this. Good find.

And in the spirit of completely irrational fanboy-ism (because I could care less about wireless companies): SUCK IT AT&T!

Amen! Just let VZW post false, misleading ads that claim without 3G service, you'll have none whatsoever. ๐Ÿ™„

I'd be worried about losing millions of subscribers, too.

At&t simply needs to make a competitive commercial.

Reportedly, the exclusive expires in June 2010.

If I were AT&T, I would be, borrow, steal, whatever it takes to keep the iphone exclusive.

So its not written in stone?

Does this rumor proclaim that only verizon will get the Iphone?

Cuz I hope sprint can get it. ๐Ÿ˜

Carriers have to pay apple for each iphone subscriber they have, I dont think sprint can afford to pay anyone anything without raising their prices. So if the iphone does come to sprint chances are the access charge will be higher than their current phones.

Really? So AT&T has to pay Apple for the 3.2 million iphones activated in the third quarter? Sounds like a good deal to me. If Sprint has to pay Apple for adding say 8 million customers in a year...why wouldn't they be able to pay Apple? Your statement makes no sense to me.

Having to pay a phone manufactuerer for each subscriber that uses their phone doesn't make sense to me, HTC doesn't charge for each and every customer that uses one of their WinMo phones!!! Apple's weird!!!

Oh. No question. I've always said that the relationship is like the tail wagging the dog. Still, the point is if a carrier can add 8 million subs in a year; They can certainly afford to pay a percentage to the manufacturer. Do you think if Sprint had the iphone exclusive rather than AT&T these few years they would be much better off than they are? I do.

This is nothing new, all the carriers, no matter where, pay RIM for each Blackberry to use its system. Fair, not fair, I don't know? In the end its worth it to the carriers.

This whole business deal with Apple is really, really weird!!! No other phone manufactuerer requires a carrier to pay them for each subscriber that has their phone. Apple is just weird!!!

Wrong. RIM gets a cut of each blackberry online.

Oh yeah, because of subscribers using their servers. I guess that makes sense since since users are accessing a service provided by RIM.
