Just fix the network!

I know, consumers are stupid so ATT has to respond. But just suck it up expand you're network, fix it, and expedite the 7.2 roll out!
I mean ATT gave VZW the ammo for these attack ads and if as ATT says their 3G is faster, run some commercials proving it.

Yes, I agree. Their network is lousy. I can't even use my iphone inside my house. The truth hurts.

Me too! However I am now lusting after a Vphone. The possibilities with two way video calling are... Well let's say that I am VERY excited about those possibilities. 🤤

The problem is not just "ATT's" network, it's GSM in general. ATT chose to build their existing network on top of an old out-of-date network. ATT's current network is piggy-backed. Verizon and Sprint built their networks from the ground up, that is why CDMA is far superior to GSM. TMO is having similar issues with their network, GSM!!!

LTE is going to run into similar problems, it is being built on top of an existing network. Sprints Wimax is built from the ground up.

Of course CDMA is superior to GSM but then Beta was superior to VHS and you see how that worked out.

Uh, there's a variety of factors.

About the only way GSM is markedly inferior to CDMA is in regards to interference. In terms of latency and reliability it's actually a step above CDMA.

I prefer CDMA myself, but both systems do have their drawbacks, and pluses.

Most folks I know who have AT&T are happy with them. In spite of all this hoopla, they continue to make money and attract customers.

Let's face it: if you put out an inferior product, you won't survive for long, no matter how "cool" it is. If AT&T's network was really as bad as folks say it is, people would be leaving in droves rather than signing up in.

The VAST majority of AT&T's customers are average cell phone users, and they rarely complain because they live & stay in AT&T coverage areas. I am a US Cellular customer, I have less coverage then VZW & AT&T, but USCC provided me with EVERYTHING I need in the central states. Same is true with all carriers. So that argument does not hold well. Its the data & Business customers that the battle is for.

I agree.
We've been promised 3G in the Duluth, MN market for quite a long time. After being told by my AT&T rep that they promised 3G on December 31st, they again pushed it back 45 days.
I'm still a bit of a VZW fanboy but now I work for a retailer that offers Verizon, Sprint and AT&T. I try and remain unbias but the VZW 3G network where we're at exists and AT&T keeps postponing.
