Verizon is scared of AT&T, here's how I know...

First, Verizon/Android launches the "iDont" campaign. Second Verizon launches the "There's a Map for That" campaign. Third, they raise the ETF on Premium (PDA) devices to $350.

Here is what consumers should take away from this. AT&T is kicking Verizon's butt with iPhone and everyone knows this. Verizon hasn't been losing customers but they haven't been setting the world on fire adding them either the way AT&T has. Verizon's churn is up YOY (year over year) and AT&T'S down.

All of these advertising or slander campaigns (depending on how you look at it), are all intended to stop Verizon's bleeding. AT&T'S 3G reaches 75% of the US population and their data coverage covers 97% of the population. AT&T's 3G is twice as fast as Verizon. AT&T ...

I think its funny how you only say I'm wrong but mention nothing specific. Based on your previous forum messages you're either a Verizon customer in contract or an employee bitter about giving out account numbers so that customers can port out. Good luck with life though. I wish you the best.

lol ok

the order it was done in is like this actually

1. there's a map for that campaign
2. ETF increase
3. iDon't campaign

my personal opinion is that you're a secret at&t employee but im just crazy.

1. vzw uses att 3g map against them on commercials while poking fun of att/apples "theres an app for that" commercials.

next, att sues vzw for saying that this is misleading even though vzw is using att's 3g map.

vzw comes out with more commercials promoting the droid before its release.

before the droid is released, vzw increases the ETF because a good number of people are buying these expensive smart phones on contract and then they pay the 175 etf and sell the phone for a great profit..vzw really didn't like that so th...

1 fatal flaw in your statement, hazmat... EDGE is NOT equivalent to dialup, and EVDO rev 1 (Verizon's 3rd Gen Data tech) is not that different from EDGE in terms of speed. If it were superior, I could take an 8300 series curve from one of our EVDO carriers here and bring up websites faster than an 8300 series curve on EDGE. There is no real world difference in speed.

Verizon is simply comparing apples to oranges (or bananas to oranges if you hate apple so much), and AT&T is right in suing them for publicly lying about them. EVEN if it's technically true because they each call it "3G"... then Verizon shouldn't be able to call EVDO rev 1 "3G", if we're going to compare oranges to oranges 🙂

How do ya like them bananas? 🙂

1. The ONLY reason ATT is still adding the customers they are is because of 1 device, a device that will not remain exclusive, and who's customers by and large love their device but hate the network it's on.

2. That device is the sole reason att is doing so well, and also the main reason their data network is made fun of so often.

3. Even without this device, verizon is able to add millions of customers every quarter. Not really a hurting company.

4. Apple's been running "I'm a mac" commercials for years and people thought they were cutesy and funny adverts against Microsoft. Why are the same style of ads now "slander" when Verizon tries them?

5. I don't care about theoretical speeds, I care about real speeds, and the re...

Once again, Menno is right on. I don't drink Kool-Aid, just Bud and Verizon...this Buds for you! Most posts understand that ATT has not bothered to invest in themselves as a major player. MY GOD, Sprint's 3G coverge is at least 3X better.

They should have not put all their eggs in the Iphone basket. Sure, it's been good for the company, but they never expanded upon that success with other cutting edge devices.

Wahh, Wahh...get over yourselves ATT. Grow up and invest in expanding your 3G coverage instead of diverting much needed funding away from your network.

I don't know. That iphone basket is looking PRETTY sweet from where I am sitting! 3.2 million iphone activations (out of 4.3 million total) in the 3rd quarter is impressive!

It's too bad all the Vzw boys have no data to back up the crap talk. Sounds like Vzw is still bitter over the iPhone deal. Have fun giving out account numbers fellas. I'm sure "port out", "charge back" and "when are you getting iPhone" has to be getting to you.

So quit running your mouth and definitively prove to us that AT&T's network is faster and better as you claim.

Hey! Don't co-sign my comment as though I am an AT&T-phile! I am just an observer. While I do like the iphone (A LOT)! I want to see it on Verizon's network. Still, I am not taking sides in this little spat. Just needed to provide some hard facts to correct this claim that the iphone is falling off. I need more popcorn. Carry on combatants!

Bleeding? Not a fan of actual stats, are you?

And as for the speed crack, PROVE IT (or shut up).

Seriously? Where is your proof to anything that you said in your second paragraph?

Last time I checked, you need to switch the two carriers around. I work in the industry selling the two of them plus Sprint. I see the figures regularly and my feedback from customers and raw figures do not lie.
