Sprint Plans to Lay Off Thousands
Definitely a company I will stay with
But back on topic...I work for Sprint (not in fear of losing my job luckily though) and while I feel for all those losing their jobs Sprint probably does have a lot of unnecessary contractors & jobs that could be consilidated. It's a smart business move, it sucks that it's necessary, but I honostly think its for the best in the long term.
The real problem is pretty clear- Sprint's leadership feels a need to spend more money than it can afford to spend- and then they have to make cuts to save that money somewhere else. The discouraging thing is that the company has made great strides in customer service, and now much of that will be negated. It doesn't matter how well the people in the stores or on the phone resolve your issues- if you have to wait three hours for it to happen you'll have a negative impression.
At least AT&T will move ahead of Sprint again soon. As Sprint watches that happen they may decide to bring some of the employees back.
Anyway, this news headline isn't about the national unemployment. It's about a company that has been working to regain solid ground for AT LEAST 3yrs.

bush never had unemployment this high.we can only pray he is out of office in 3 years so we can get this country back to what it used to be! ๐ก
I cant believe Im even going to waste my time with ignorance... Obama has been in office for 9 months. The economy collapsed before Obama was in office due to the republicans irresponsible management of the government. You would be dumb to think that if anyother person would have gotten into the chair the economy would have instantly recovered. All economist (republican and democrat) have all stated that the economy and unemployment rate would get worst before it gets better. This was stated before anyone won the election.
Yes the unemployment rat...

A war mongering, morally bankrupt bully?
Yeah. Sounds great. Let's get to it!
Thanks all of the two faced politicians, greedy things done by the Bernie Madoffs, and the sleazy lenders working in conjunction with greedier Realtors that caused the bubble that just bursted in our faces. I believe that we have effectively devalued everything that is American by these ridiculous bailouts and big government ironically trying to run the 'free market'. I'm not making light of losing a job by any means,I just hate the fact that hard working people that hold this very economy up have to suffer when everyone else's greed at the top screws it up.
Get your timeline right.
Thirdly, Sprint has been trying to restructure for 3 YEARS, of which has nothing to do with politics, it has to do with worthless execs.
Sprint having problems in nothing new.

yea its smart to you guys because you might not loose your job.just another example of how obama is costing this country jobs.unemployment now over 10% in US.i bet all of these tards that voted for him feel stupid now!
The current financial climate has nothing to do with Obama you TWIT.
Lord save me from dumb people.
And more relative to the point, companies have been laying off employees since they began. It is smart business if you understand it. Yes, It sucks for the people who lose their jobs, but it also means the company keeping its doors open and many more people staying employed.
If there are people with the talent and ability then why would they want to subject themselves to all this crap. I fear we have slammed the door on anyone who might be able too!
That says a lot.
Also, do you really believe that someone can get us out of debt in 9 months? Try taking a macroeconomics course and come back for a real conversation.

My heart goes out to those losing their jobs not only before the Holiday Season but at such a time as this. Let's face it, Sprint is making every appropriate move in the positive direction that looks quite promising to me. It's their fiduciary duty to their shareholders to lay off all of these workers and I hope they get employment elsewhere.
Things always look great when you're not getting laid off.
He must have it made. No matter what happens or when it happens, it is not his fault!
He is doing so much for the country. Plus he only gets credit. When it comes to fault, hey it is not his problem. And as an extra added bonus any one even starts to find fault they are called racist!
Wonderful!
Wow and they called Clinton "slick".
Now what follows this will be shooting me down and continue PR for the Prez. March in line people. Be good little robots!
