Hopefully, this venture is more successful than Sprint ever was. I wish we had it here. I would sign up.

Guess you haven't read the reviews off broadbandreports.com

Terrible service! People are not even getting the download speed advertised.

Jay has been raving about his Clear service in Las Vegas. I trust his experience and I bet you it is faster than the Rev A I am getting from Verizon for $20 less per month.

Ah, on a scale on 1-10, I would rate it 6.8.
Like any radio based technology, speeds do vary drastically, but regardless of whether I'm getting 8mbps, or 1.5-2mbps, the important thing is when I watch multimedia, video, like news clips, Hulu, it doesn't stop to buffer too long, and that I can say it doesn't.

And Clear does seem to be proactive with their network. Henderson which is just south of Las Vegas, is getting 16 new WiMAX towers, 4 of which are going to be near a mall, which happens to have a Clear store in it. So that's awesome. One of those towers is being turned in Nov. 23rd.

While some of these complaints are legitimate, They are completely overshadowed by the praises.

What I found interesting was that you were only the second one to leave a comment on the article. You completely dismissed WiMax as "Waiting for LTE" before actually trying WiMax. At the price tier WiMax is offered and no long term committment, I feel you should ultimately try it if offered in your area before making assumptions. It is an amazing advance from what we are wirelessly using. This is new technology and many software upgrades are being made to optimize the experience. LTE will not be immune to issues in the early stages of deployment. Also who else currently has 4G technology? I would give anything to have this in my area regardless...

Upstate New York.

Trust me. WiMax can not get here soon enough. I can't wait. We are slotted for sometime 2Q or 3Q 2010. But I hope sooner. 😁

How did you find out that specific information when your getting WiMAX service? That's pretty good?

Btw, I'm originally from Connecticut. I've never really been to upstate NY, only Albany one time, but mostly the city.

Interesting to see how many subscribers Clear has (511,000). I'm sure that will at least double by April, just a guess.

Heads up, Clearwire (CLWR) will be announcing it's 3rd qtr info tomorrow!
