Yeah, not only that but the idiots who buy the iphones, get five of them and want to get out of the contracts the second day they get them.. And don't want to return the phones so they can sell them on E-bay.

I love their biggest excuse... "Oh, as soon as I bought them all five Iphones were stolen out of my car!" Yeah right.

yeah but not that the availibility widens it reduces scarcity, thus reducing the resale value of the phone. As soon as all store will be able to sell them then who would by it off ebay when they can just go into any store and get one?

You know, I always wonder how they get away with doing that. I mean, even if the phones are stolen out of their cars, we still have to charge an ETF if they want to cancel right?

And thats why AT&T and TMO need to block imei of stolen phones like carriers do in europe. Its reported stolen, at&t adds the imei to an industry list, bang, it ain't worth crap in the US and area's that honor such agreements.

If they do imei cloning then they get caught, they can visit Bubba the Man Rapist at the local federal prison.

Whats wrong with the folks that want to resell their iphones ? I would much rather buy an iphone on ebay for more money than have to deal with sign a 2 contract with a wireless carrier. Thats probably why so many folks buy them off ebay and plan on using them in the USA. An if Apple really didn't want this whole mess of unlocking, they could easily sell unlocked iphones for $700 which is only $100 less than factory unlocked versions are selling for overseas. This would essentially end the trans-atlantic iphone travel that they openly detest [but covertly live for ] . I wouldn't be too suprised if they were directly or indirectly involved in the magical just-in-time for christmas unlocks that happened at the end of 2007 , just to push their ...

The biggest thing is...fraud. AT&T discounts the iPhone by $400, but the ETF is only $175. AT&T or any cellular company loses money when customers do that.

Actually, what you call 'price ' is a matter of perspective. When apple first sold their iphone, it was going for $400. That was not a subsidized price. Apple was making a profit at that price, but was expecting to make even more through the internet deals with at&t. At&t had nothing to lose, they were going to make a profit over the service. The current price for the newer models is 199 and 299 and these prices may be subsidized by at&t -- probably by only $100 depending on the model. When you pay your 175 etf, you have already covered the price of the phone and then some. These companies are out for a profit, they do not lose. The etf would have been much higher if that was the case.

Call center morons? We're the ones taking the five line cancels that you Iphone morons are doing and putting the phones on e-bay. I don't see where you're getting morons from. If you think you know so much about what you're calling in about why don't you work for the call center. Jesus.

The Shack does a better job than most in the wireless business. And they still wait on you unlike the pimple faced kids at Best Buy and without the high prices and rebates of the corporate stores..

You must not have been to a RadioShack in the last year or so. Either that or you were in one and acted like a know-it-all and were bounced out on your ear. We take a lot of pride in how we offer, and at least in Houston, do not tolerate any employee that doesnt know what they are selling. So, I challenge you to visit The Shack, and see how things have changed.....you never know, you may be surprised. ๐Ÿ˜

๐Ÿ™‚ lol. Sorry, had to add that bit. I like your sense of pride. That was touching. However, if you are going to challenge him/her I suggest you keep it to Houston where you feel most confident. lol.

With The Shack much of the customer experience depends upon the store manager and the district manager. Where one or both are asleep at the switch the customer experience is not great. If we can successfully launch a third carrier with a minimum of glitches we can handle the iPhone.

Granted, both the SM & DM play an important part in the associate's training, as does the carrier's representative, but with the best training it's still bottom line on the back of each individual to learn the products and apply the training. Some associates are just lame, and rest assured they do not last as RadioShack is very much goal oriented and no one is irreplaceable.

Bash The Shack as much as you want, OTOH I can make an equally good argument against the corporate store employees for AT&T, Sprint, and T-Mobile (based on personal experiences). Can't count the number of times I've read the suggestion that if you don't get the answer you want, call back and talk to a different customer service rep, ask for a customer retention sp...
