Now that's cool
As a born and raised New Yorker I say that is one cool feature. If you've ever tried to get around in a NY city subway you know what I mean.
...
Agreed. This is a 2 Thumbs Up Feature.... New Yorkers big ups. This for you! 😛 Now... lets hope your phone works down there.
...
Well its not really required to work down in there. You map point a to point b and it will tell you if you need to get on a sub or not. If so then you can still have the map pulled up while being down there but just cant refresh. Plus you know before you get down there it says enter A-Train and exit Harlem 45th and what ever. so when you get off the train you can resume your service. 😉
...
I was thinking along the lines of switching destinations or redirecting your destination. Search for alternate route (like if you miss a train) or perhaps simply getting lost. More times then I can remember Id get lost on purpose to find a new place in the city.
Anyway, your right. Would still be cool if it did work though. Extra Credit style.

Maybe it does until the train starts to actually go through the tunnels. But if your just there at the terminal they probably still work. Matter of fact I remember I think it was verizon had a news flash on phone scoop about how they will have mini towers on the subways in new york. like the small towers Sprint has on Cruise ships.
...
? SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO THATS WHY my Sprint phone worked on the Carnival Cruise? (I went to Ochio Rios Jamaica, Grand Camen Islands and Cozumel Mexico). Thats soo cool, I had no clue, I had a world phone at the time and thought that was the cause.
Same concept in subways is amazing.
In any-case, whether the phone works or not, the fact the map can still be up and usable makes it worth wild in every aspect.
Thanks for the extra info. Im gonna look further into that.

Carnival and other cruise lines supports gsm and cdma, and the roam is crazy. Jamaica has a cdma carrier, but nice nevertheless.
