I think most regular PS visitors already know bluecoyote is anti-vzw and will never be objective with anything about them. They can give away their service and phones for free and he'll find a way to criticize vzw for it.

I look at their 3Q earnings report and I don't see it. Profitibality is up y/y, data revenue is up y/y, total revenue up y/y, expense per customer is down y/y, Smartphone sales is up y/y. Their churn is also up y/y but still lowest postpaid retail churn in industry and many would argue its partly because of customers taking advantage of thier BOGO promos, which is why they're increasing the ETF on Smartphones. If you say yes, show some hard numbers because I don't see it.

Its called greed, people say, they need a higher etf, because the smartphones cost more, well they charge more for them, anywhere from $200 to $50 over the typical el cheapo freebie or basic model, there is your differenc...

No need for that. The policy doesn't start until November 15. Educate everyone you can to not sign new contracts with Verizon going forward and once their existing contract is up to port out. I would not want you to be held hostage by evil Verizon. Too bad you people don't whine about getting raped by all the carriers on messaging. THAT'S something to complain to your freaking Congressman about.

"And what the carriers pay for these phones is no where near what their "retail price" is."

Can you post actual figures of carrier cost on handsets? If you actualyl knew them, you might understand the issue. Do you also think retailers make hundreds of dollars on game consoles?

Problem is that nobody can make up their damn mind as to what type of phone they want. This is why people whine all the time about "why do we have to have a data plan" with a smart phone. STUPID. People jump on band wagons because everyone else is doing it then end up regretting it and either returning their phones which can't be re sold or disconnecting. I hate VZW doing this I think it sends the wrong message but it will do what it is intended to and that is keep those who really aren't ready for a smart phone commitment from simply jumping on a phone cause it looks cool. I think AT&T will likely follow as customers are the same across all providers. Blind and often sheepish sometimes making someone think twice is for their own good.

You must have Verizon confused with another CDMA carrier who shall remain nameless which has the highest churn in the industry and the worst customer service

Yeah but no $350 etf fee's. And they don't act like they were the first or invented the concept of the Android Phone.
