I understand why VZW is doing this. Ebay sales are through the roof for people who cancel their account after 30 period has past. AT&T will follow. Why? Because VZW was the first. They don't have to deal with the public lashing that VZW will deal with.

This makes too much sense to get bogged down in carrier blame.

Right, VZW will do it because they can get away with it, and others will follow. This is outright abuse. I can't believe these fanboi's buy into this crap. And what I just said holds true if AT&T or whomever pulls the same.

This is not abuse, it's a smart biz decision. If you let your customers walk all over you, I think we know where you will end up (Sprint)...lol. Seriously, do you really buy that the abuse is on the carriers end? Bad apples spoil the bunch, this is especially true in this case. Thanks to all of you that cancelled on day 31, I hope you all are dumb enough to do it again after the new ETF fee hits.

Except for an off contract data card, I don't use Sprint. And I will not digress onto a tangent on why I prefer gsm.

LOL Sounds like someone is suffering from consumer entitlement. I suppose when one has sold for five carriers and been subjected to customers not valuing the cost of phones one becomes jaded. I want to end ALL subsidies and contracts on ALL carriers. If I had a nickel for every customer who walked into my store after losing or destroying a phone thinking they'd just pay the two year price again and then went off when told the cost would be Full Retail. They SHOULD have paid Full Retail in the beginning, perhaps then they would not be careless.

Then just go back to your job as assistant evening manager at the Mall Cell Phone Kiosk and right the rest of us consumers off.
