1) Another carrier releases an "it" phone. Customers leave Verizon Wireless in droves for it.
2) Verizon Wireless comes up with a crappy knockoff, advertising one or two features the VZW knockoff does better, even if it's something dumb like "allows open development" or "plays VCast."
3) Customers buy it, assuming they got something just as good but without the hype on a better network.
4) By chance use a friend's "it" phone and realize there's absolutely no comparison between the two. But assume that they have better coverage than their friends with the "it" phone, so it's good, right?
5) Realize their phone is garbage, and after the initial hype is really getting horrible reviews and as a platform it's falling exponentially f...

Wow. You should really put down the hateraid. It is blinding you.

You'd be mad too if you had to use a Blackberry Storm for a week.
😁
...
Dude, you should really try the Storm with 5.0 Had it for two weeks now. Super fast. The only downfall is web browsing. But I use opera mini and bolt for that anyway. 5.0 is rocking man.
...
I've tried it with 5.0, and it's still bloody miserable and a cheap attempt at a touch screen phone. Absolutely nothing on it was done right- it is literally one of the most half-arsed contraptions I've used, and I could go on for reasons but I'll just pick one:
The virtual keyboard. Is. Trash.
Corrective text. Is. Trash.
it exemplifies everything lazy about this phone.
...
You kidding?!?! I can pound out messages faster on my Storm then I can an iPhone. The messaging is the best part of the phone. The new BBM is awesome. I thought of the phone as trash with the first software, decent with the next release, and now very good. I would say awesome if it came with a native browser that was faster. I can load pages in opera mini in milliseconds. It seems like a literal tap and the page is loaded. With the Blackberry browser it takes the same page 5 to 10 seconds. If Blackberry could fix that then this would be awesome.
However, I will say I am taking your opinions in stride because you are attacking a part of the new software that is amazing (messaging). Sorry man, but I do believe you are just a hater....

pretty sure att could make their etf 600 on the iphone and bluecoyote would say it's completely different than verizon's because "the iphone is better, so it's ok."
The new 5.0 software is amazing. I actually prefer the screen on the original storm to the storm2 (for me) even though the storm2 doesn't have a physical click, the feedback makes it seem even more sensitive, and I'm afraid I'll break it.
...
😁 🤣 😁 🤣 That is true. Everyone who is a regular visitor on PS knows that bluecoyote got screwed somewhere along the way by VZW and is a blinded VZW hater. VZW can come out with free phones, no contracts, and free monthly service and bluecoyote will critize them somehow ("but they still don't have an iphone").

Here's another process:
1. Verizon releases a new "it" phone (storm 2, Droid).
2. In order to boost sales early, they offer some sort of Buy One Get One Free promo.
3. Customer gets two with activation.
4. Customer cancels the new line, eats the ETF of $175.
5. Customer now has a $4-600 full retail device, flips it on ebay, and even after the ETF they're making money.
...
Thats what I just said in another post. Plagairism, hahaha. I would add another step-cancel the line contributing to churn, which indirectly affects the bottom line.Churn was meant to measure customer loyalty, not to measure customers taking advantage of promos.
