Verizon Wireless Confirms the Droid Can Be Tethered

This is a weird announcement. All other PDA/Smartphones with Verizon allow tethering. Why would this one be any different?

I think it's because Sprint doesn't allow tethering anymore on smartphones.

There was an article on phonearena about sprint making an announcement that they were considering having an adroid phone that acted as a mifi...that would be like tethering, only awesomer.

Ummm Sprint does allow Teathewring... Just not on the everything plans...

I think it's actually to quiet the internet trolls who reply to every verizon announcement with "they cripple their phones!!!!"

Just like verizon made it a point to mention that the Droid would have wifi, android marketplace, and be a google experience device (as in, the carrier cannot limit anything google approves)
