What Goes Around.....

This is funny because Verizon (whom I love and have great service with)sued AT&T over their best coverage ads a few years ago citing that they did not have the best coverage in the US. Thus making AT&T take their commercials off the air and changing to "worldwide" which cost them millions...commercials aren't cheap. This lawsuit will probably yield the same results due to the implications....people...what you reap; 👿 you hall sow....

I don't see where they are lying. Howard Stern has been on a tirade about his AT&T coverage in the middle of Manhattan (dropped calls)! He finally canceled AT&T and got Verizon. Now he is praising VW. With millions of people listening he probably got a few more to leave... Lets face it AT&T sucks for 3G. The commercial is spot on.

LMAO, like anyone listens to Howard Stern

but that's not the case everywhere- Manhattan's coverage is different from the coverage in a city like Atlanta or Charlotte where AT&T is far superior.

The big problem is Verizon lied about its coverage quality in many parts of the country. Manhattan is one thing, but I can tell you Charlotte is another story.

Verizon's coverage maps are very misleading. They only use one color, red. If there is a glimmer of a signal somewhere it gets to be painted red. Whether the signal is usable or not it shows coverage. If you go to many of those remote areas you will find your phone is unusable.
I don't think AT&T has a case because the Verizon commercials definitely do say 3G coverage. EDGE does not qualify as 3G but 1XRTT can be called 3G even though the data speeds are not great. Verizon's 3G coverage in the NW is mostly 1X. AT&T's coverage in the NW is much better than VZW's but it is mostly EDGE so the commercial is correct.

If that's the case AT&T still has a case against Verizon for implying that 2.5G on AT&T is any worse than what Verizon Wireless considers 3G.

For the record, everything that Verizon owned before the Alltel buy was upgraded to EVDO (3G).

they use red for VOICE ONLY (online)

Their data coverage is Blue if you toggle it online. It's misleading only for people who can't read.

If you can't cover voice in Manhattan you are toast. That is my point. I would let AT&T keep spending money on lawyers and lawsuits..

In fact I would make a commercial out of the fact AT&T is suing so "You Cant See The Map of That".

Manhattan isn't the only place in the USA and is hardly the most important in this economy. AT&T just turned on the 850mhz spectrum as well, so coverage has improved there.

I've got news for you. Millions of people still listen to Howard Stern on Sirius! Do some research before and after Jan 2006 when he left the air waves for SIRIUS! Face it Verizon has superior 3g coverage over At&t.

Verizon coverage in Charlotte area is better then AT&T I hate to bust your bubble. I xcarry around both an AT%T and Verizon service both Blackberrys and I get far better coverage on my Verizon phone then I do my AT&T. The kicker is when traveling down 85 I have 3G coverage for both AT&T and Verizon but once I get to exit 52 Popular Tent I get only EDGE for AT&T and still 3G for Verizon.

I agree...but you have to admit it is funny. AT&T has been waiting for Verizon to do something to allow them to retaliate...weak, they should save their money.

ATT's first reaction for ANYTHING is to Sue someone rather than actually improve what someone pointed out.

FCC gives them a hard time about GV, they sue google.

Verizon points out that ATT is doing NOTHING to expand their 3g footprint (refitting 850mhz in areas already covered does not count) ATT wastes millions and sues verizon instead of actually doing something productive for their customers.

Verizon spend BILLIONS in the past few years refitting their entire native network with EVDO, the only places that verizon doesn't offer this (but they own the towers) is in some alltel locations, which will change. Of course roaming partners will do what they want with their towers.
