You can get any phone at Best Buy Mobile, with no mail in rebates. Our staff does not work on commission, and can activate your phone in store. We also offer our own protection plan, with no deductibles,so you don't have to deal with the insurance mess. Why go anywhere else?

Agreed. I hate mail in rebates. What's the point? Hoping a certain percentage of customers will not bother to send it in?

That is the point. Companies make cake off mail-in rebates that are not redeemed and gift cards that are never used.

Do you know if Best Buy will honor my New Every 2 $50 discount as well? I have bought a couple phones from Best Buy in the past, and have always had a good experience. I just don't recall if they honored NE2. Thanks.

Reasons to go anywhere else

1. Best Buy employees do not work on commission, so they could care less if you return the phone.

2. Because you do not care about the customers knowledge, you do not help them setup/understand/ or answer any questions about the phone or plan or features

3. If something minor happens to the phone such as the keypad not working on some phones best buy basically tell you to go f*** yourself and go to a corporate store

4. 1/8 selection of phones

5. Best Buy employees have less understanding and less ability to tweak plans in order to accomadate the customers new phone.

more to come

however, once these customers purchase the phone from Best Buy they will go into the direct store with any issues or to seek instruction on using the phone (smirking all the while).

You're assuming all Best Buy employees are morons, when in fact...

Actually I disagree with this statement. I'm a former Best Buy Mobile General Manager. They do care if the phone comes back. While they don't get commission they do get margin and carrier kick-backs for selling phones. If the phone is return the kick-back is return. Also, they have wireless carrier specialist that come to the store to provide training and updates to all the new things that's going on. What your talking about is when Best Buy sold phones and it was called the Wireless Department. Under the Best Buy Mobile umbrella that is not the case.

You're trying to use logic with someone who can't think logically. Don't waste your breath... ;)

All Best Buy Mobile employees are trained in mobile sales and activations. Every employee is very helpful, and they live up to the Best Buy Mobile promises. I promise you that the employees are just as or even more knowledgeable than a regular carrier store, because they have at least 3 carriers in each store, allowing them to get you the best deal.

Also, yes the phone selection might not have every color in the box, but with no mail in rebates it is a great place to go!

I don't understand reason #1.
Thats a plus for me, so if i buy a phone at best buy and then don't want it I can return it and not have to listen to you convince me to keep it. Also almost any indirect agent is gonna tell you to go to a corporate store for something minor. I would rather not worry about REBATES at purchase and go deal with corp when I need to. win, win for me the customer.

I bet direct reps and managers do not appreciate this. Between VZW offering instant rebates for online purchases and an indirect basically doing the same...they'll be out on the street corners with signs "Will work for food."

No Mail-In Rebates are awesome. But your black tie protection is not what's its crack up to be. It does not cover lost or stolen. Smartphones can take up to 30 days to be repair. Most times it takes longer. The loaner they provide is not a comparable model. Therefore if my Blackberry is not working, I dont get a blackberry loaner. The price of the black tie protection for phones over 350 is 9.99...most carrier's protection is cheaper plus covers lost or stolen. Dont fall for you'll get a brand new phone....its refurbished. Lastly the black tie does not cover all issues with phone. For an example, it does not cover liquid damage.

I'd want to hold the phone and actually get a feel for it before buying it so pre-ordering it at Best Buy is not a good option for me. But I might look into buying it through Best Buy Mobile after I decide if the phone is practical for my needs. Otherwise I am very much interested in it.
