The G1, the MyTouch, Touch Pro 2, the Hero, the Palm Pre, the Storm, the Cliq, the Moment, the Touch Diamond 2, the Imagio and many others have already threaten the iPhone.

The iPhone is just so conceded, it hasn't realized; and its nap by the tree has let the others pass it by and win the race.

Sincerely,
The Droid.

I currently have a Voyager for my personal phone and a BB 8330 for work. I'm already sold on the Droid. This may very well replace the aforementioned phones above 🙂

Luckily I'm up for NE2 through VZW, so I'll most likely be pre-ordering this one or ordering it on the 6th. Looking forward to the reviews.

Iphone sales are up another 7% over last quarter.

Nothing compares to iphones except for a new and better iphone.

I have used them all.

The iphone has an all around good device.

AS far as multitasking, push notification is pretty much the same, cause you still have to open things onto screen one at a time.

PLus the battery in iphone is still way better then winmobile, blackberry or android.

Nice try though, it is a nice device the droid. But people will not ditch the iphone for it.

My 8900, Storm and my Hero all make the iPhone battery look like a poo poop plater.

Doesn't it cost you $10 for Push Email? A feature BB's offer essentially for FREE.

The iPhone is a overall "decent" device.

As far as ditching the iPhone for another phone and iPhone sales going up 7%.... How many of those 7% are using the iPhone on a different network? Never mind that, its not important; people have already started to ditch the iPhone. Its a lot like Rap. You can deny it all you want, but in the end, its dying.

I dont want to make this another "Why I Think the iPhone "Is or Is Not" a Great phone" thread.

I will just say that I disagree with you. Outside of iTunes, the iPhone can "No-Longer" compete with modern phones like it once could.

The fact that I can plug ANY phone with a SD card into ANY computer and take ANY content I want and save it to my SD card, makes ANY phone with a SD card better then a iPhone in my opinion. Unlike the iPhone, I (and those within my circle) dont need iTunes installed to transfer any type of data. Drag & Drop will triumph the iTunes process any day.

Now, thats just my opinion. I also believe the only thing the iPhone has going for itself is the iTunes set up and its simple design. Sadly however, as I mentione...

I'll take my Touch Pro 2 over an iPhone anyday.

I do have to agree that the Droid is not a threat to the iPhone, or even a BB Storm 2.

Droid does...not look like a contender.

I think you've hit the nail on the head. Apple could afford to do that because they didn't really have competition to force them to stop doing these weak upgrades. With Droid it raises awareness about the difference between the features. I would but my right arm that you will see a BIG DIFFERENCE IN THE NEXT iPhone.

(According to Wireless Week) Of the 3.2 million iphones AT&T sold in the 3rd quarter 40% were new customers to AT&T. Yeah. That's 1,280,000. You call that dying? Seriously? And I am a loyal Verizon customer patiently waiting for an LTE iphone on VZW. Apparently not everyone is though. I don't know what percentage of that 1,280,000 were Verizon port-ins. I'm going to keep my three out of contract lines out of contract though until I can upgrade to an iphone.

I can completely understand your "wants". I too wanted the iPhone. Until I finally got a hold of one. To be as honest as I possibly can; I have been spoiled by other phones that can do more. So, I am no longer a Iphone user. I have a Unlocked BlackBerry Storm right now and..... well.... Ive been Happier with my Storm in the last 4 days then I was with the iPhone for 2 weeks.

Get yourself a Ipod Touch. Thats a iPhone without a Camera and without calling. Thats what I had before the iPhone. I rather have my Ipod Touch. The battery lasted longer and it was thinner then the iPhone.

Anyway, my only point is, we dont realize what it is we want until we have it or lose it.

A Blackberry Storm can't do half the things the iPhone can, and the things it CAN do it does pretty crappily. It's not even close.

My point is: until I can get one I am going to want one.

I could care less about folks keep their iPhones, this phone will take off. I won't switch to AT&T for any device and don't think I'd move to the iPhone should VZW offer it in the future.

This phone/OS has huge potential and will only get better. The only phone with more apps is the iPhone, which is another reason I'm moving to the Droid. With the release of Droid 2.0 and its DSK, and all these new devices coming next year, I can only see the number of apps increasing.
