I have a regular Google Voice account but wanted to try this so:

I sent myself an invitation to open up a new account and did that. Then I activated call forwarding no answer to my new Google Voice number. What's nice about it is that it sends me a transcript and wav file of the message to my Blackberry so I don't have to call in to gt my messages.
So far so good - Plus, I like the "Google saves everything" aspect of the new Voice mail.

If I want to revert to my Verizon wireless Voicemail, I just dial *73 to cancel the forwarding.

Pretty neat if you ask me.
