This has got to be one of the smartest moves t-mobile has made yet and its no contract which makes it even better. Superb Job to T-Mob

I don't know. Getting rid of MyFaves was probably a mistake. For the most part, I don't think Americans are ready for unsubsidized phones. Is any money actually being saved, especially if a phone is financed? I'm sure there will be interest charged.

The Even More (contract) plans are pretty much in and around where Sprint is. In some cases, Tmobile is more, in some cases Sprint is more.

I'd say Sprint's Any Mobile, Any Time was a bigger change than these plans are.

T-Mobile doesn't charge any extra to pay the phone off in installments and if you choose the No-Contract Even More Plus plans, you can pay it over 20 months. Smart move considering customers will be paying outright for the equipment.
So yes, you really do save money on the No-Contract option.

YES no contract is definetly a good thing!!! I belive businesses should earn a customer, not bind them!!!

Personally I haven't been under contract for 4yrs.

So do I. I cannot wait until carriers only offer service and ALL consumers purchase their handsets DIRECTLY from the manufacturers. With this business model any phone issues would be resolved with the manufacturers as well. The carriers only provide the cellular service.

Well yeah, that's the way it SHOULD be! I pay ATT for a signal from their cell towers to my phone, that's it, end of sentance, that's all I don't need ATT for corny telenav, I've got Google Maps, I don't need ATT for anything else, just a signal from the cell tower, and the rest I can take care of.

OK, How is this a smart move??? Lets do the math on all of this.
Example 1
1 Line no Contract on T Mobile

Cost of Curve $349
24 Months of
Service $1679

Total Cost $2028

This gets you 1000 anytime minutes, unlimited nights at 9pm and t mobile to t mobile

Addt costs $10mo. Telenav Voice turn by turn
Insurance $6mo.

Lets assume you get both these features

Total cost is now $2412 over 24 months, yes I know no contract, but you cant "leave" t mobile until your phone is paid off.

Now what does Sprint Have??? Only saying this because T-Mobile isnt comparing itself to Sprint, hmm wonder why, take a look!!

BB Curve with Sprint $50 after MIR(2 yr con)
24 Months of Service $1679

This includes 450 anytim...

YOU MUST WORK FOR SPRINT... LOL 😁

First off you have to get your facts straight BEFORE you say what can and cannot be done...

CORECTION:

#1... You can indeed leave T-mobile at ANY time... Key words NO ANNUAL CONTRACT... even if your phone is not paid off!! NO TERMINATION FEES 🤣

#2... What plan are you comparing?? For LESS THEN the price you quoted... they could have... UNLIMITED TALK AND TEXT PLUS INSURANCE AND TELE NAV...

Blackberry 8520 $349
Unlimited Talk & Text $1439.76
Tele Nav & INS $384

GRAND TOTAL... 2172.76
( OVER 24 MONTHS)

And that unlimited TALK AND TEXT PLUS NO CONTRACT!!!! 😛 ... SOOOO I can only imaging the ACTUAL price for the 1000 minute plan... 🙄

NOW ONLY IF EVERYONE COULD ...

Ask them what happens if you are financing the phone for 20 months.
If you have only paid 200 towards the cost of a 500 phone, you can leave anytime yes, but you will have to pay balance of 300 or go to collections and ruin your credit.

This is a comparrison of both comapnies 69.99 plans.

Ok, yes your math comes out less than what I wrote, honwever, do you really need unlimted minutes to landlines? Isnt that like rollover minutes from ATT, paying for more than what you need?

I do not work for Sprint, but i can see how you might think so. I actually have t mobile service, have had for several years and have a grandfathered plan that I wont be changing.

If they were to let you make 2 payments of $20 towards your phone that is financed over 20 months and walk away and not pay the balance of the phone... Sign me up NOW!!!! I will pay $40 bucks for a Blackberry and cancel service then go sell the phone on craigslist for $150 and make a profit off of t mobiles phones. Thanks Tmobile

Do you think a company would let ya do that?

If you were to cancel service, before you paid off your phone. You would receive a bill for the full amount. & if you don't pay, you will be sent to collections & damage your credit.

Exactly, no carrier is crazy enough to let someone pay 2 payments of $20($40 Total) and then walk away,

Of course you will get a bill for the balance.

Did you add insurance on the Sprint plan? Can you re-work this comparing the Sprint 450 to the T-Mobile 500 with no added features. I would not need Nav. I have a portable GPS and no insurance with either carrier, please. Thanks.

Sprint includes Navigation with it's data plans. He was pricing the two carriers so the features matched.

It's a valid debate as to whether an a la carte plan is preferable to all you can eat. However, when comparing prices, it's important to price what you're getting for the money. Some prefer flexibility while others prefer not to be nickled and dimed.
