I have used android, blackberry, windows mobiles.
Doesnt matter, nothing compares to the overall package of the iphone. As well as the warranty.
Verizon also said the storm was the blackberry killer.
My prediction is, the droid will be popular.
but NOBODY , NOBODY is going to choose the droid over iphone.
Verizon is just mad cause they will never get the iphone now that they have bashed it.
...
If they really want it...they can get it. In business money talks and every thing else walks. Lowell can get this done. Hopefully, once they roll out LTE and this phone and the Storm2 fail he will realize getting the iphone should be a priority.
...
Im sorry but the iphone is just not that impressive to me. I love the Android software and think its way better and more stable than that piece of glass and aluminum/plastic you call an iphone. I give all credit of that phone to marketing. www.ihatemyiphone.com
...
the iphone doesnt lag at all, android does, and is the most stable phone out there
...
Maybe they are bashing the iPhone so they can have a good last quarter until january when the iPhone contract ends with ATT??
...
"until january when the iPhone contract ends with ATT?? "
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
the iPhone exclusive contract with AT&T was for 3 years and doesn't expire until 6/29/10.
...
Whatever. WHENEVER it DOES expire Verizon should pick it up.
why would you even mentio niphone lag when nobody said a word about it?
because the iphone is a big laggy peice of ****
it should not take 30 seconds to open text messaging, nor should i have to wait 5+ second every time i click something, the iphone is terrably laggy and apps crash all the time for no reason at all at random.
...
I agree.. I am using an iPhone on Tmobile and HATE how long it takes to open my messages :/ Probably the most annoying thing in the world. It becomes a trick trying to keep the messages screen open when putting the phone in stand by that way when you get a new message you dont have to wait 10+ seconds to open messages. Dont get me wrong, I love my phone but you do need to be able to admit faults...
...
I understand that the iphone is not the phone you would choose. I, however, would like the opportunity to choose it on THE NETWORK.
...
I understand that it is not impressive to you and in response you simply do not have to buy it. It IS impressive to me. I want one and I CANNOT buy it unless I leave the comfort of Verizon's network. I don't want to do that. GET IT VZW!
The droid has a physical keyboard, this means that both my assistant and myself will choose it over the iphone (even if they were on the same network)
I have an ipod touch. I COULD NOT use it as my phone/primary PDA.
There is an old expression in entertainment:
The reason people hang out at a certain place, is because everyone hangs out there.
Same with the iphone. Android is proving very quickly that it outdates the iphone yet people want the iphone because everyone else wants the iphone. This will change as Android Mainstreams very shortly in the next 6 months.
What comes up must come down, and what is free is linux and skype
Thank you and I love you.
I hope that is not Verizon's strategy. Let's hope that they stop wanting the iphone. If so, it isn't working.
...
Why put the iphone up on a pedestal? It may have been the best phone in 2007, but has been surpassed by many new phones - especially in the European market - since then.
Hell, I left my iphone and upgraded to a Hero. A great choice for me. It's all subjective anyway. On paper, the Droid blows the iphone away. Apple needs to GET IN GEAR and stop dinking around with these minor 'enhancements' over the past few years (2G, 3G, 3Gs) and really put some beefier hardware into this little device.
...
It's not the best phone by any means. It IS however a phone that I as a Verizon customer do not have access to. I think that it is very misguided to berate someone for wanting a phone that you do not have a high opinion of. Verizon should give its customers a choice.
...
I understand your desire to have a choice. But Wireless carriers pay big money for exclusivity contracts. If I remember correctly, I had heard Apple originally approached Verizon about the iPhone. One of Verizon's reasons for saying no was that Apple want too much control: pricing, marketing, distribution, etc.
I don't think anyone at the time could have predicted just how popular the iPhone was going to be. Apple's contract with AT&T is expiring here soon. I personally think you could be seeing a Verizon iPhone as early as 2010.
...
I hope you are right.
...
...because it is forbidden fruit? Perhaps had I been able to buy one without leaving Verizon I would be over my desire to own the phone already. I guess I just need a chance to experience the phone for myself.
LMAO yeah ok. WebOS practically has no apps
It has enough GOOD apps that you may NEED - sure it doesnt have i-fart - woohoo 😲
you are correct android is much better and will truly dominate the smartphone market. Most industry annalists say android will take about 25% of the market and are putting Apple at around 8-10%. Android is slick and if you have played with 2.0 its even nicer. Apple makes a nice phone but long term its apple vs everyone else that makes a phone, and here in the usa you can only pick att I think apple has picked a loosing strategy even if they have a good device you cant be the only person that makes it
also Microsoft is on the war path and I hear they have some more big things brewing in 2010, many people dont know they still ship more windows phones than apple ships Iphones
there is a old saying we might have lost the battle but we are...
Why would anyone want a iphone on Verizon? they will just go ahead a cripple it and disable all the features. Making it a crappy phone, so all the people that left att to go to verizon will wish they didn't 🙂
...
Now why would you say that? Verizon does have a knack for putting up their own OS over whatever resident OS is already in there. BUT there are changes in the whole thing. Verizon is not touching the Droid with their OS. Maybe a few stock apps, but nothing major. Even so, MOTO isn't altering Android with MOTOBLUR, thank God. hahaha. This phone is going to perform really well.
On the topic of the iPhone. There's definitely no chance of it even being seen in Verizon's grasp until they switch to LTE.
...
I want an iphone and I DON'T want it on AT&T. If Verizon never gets it, I still would not port out to AT&T. You are just as bad as the VZW people who bash the iphone.
...
I swear, you Iphone people, need to get out of Apple's Butt. It's all sorts of brown markings on your face from you kissing their behind.
Stop compairing every touch phone that comes out to the Iphone, Jesus it gets old.
If I wanted a Iphone, I could have been left Verizon to get one, shoot all my home services are with AT&T, I would actually get a discount if I did, but the truth is.
AT&T network sucks, so I don't care how nice a phone is, if the network sucks, the phone sucks. What point is it to have a 3G phone, if you can's use 3G services?
The Iphone is so overrated.
...
It IS a nice phone though. You admit it! Now we just have to convince Lowell to get Jobs on the phone and work out the specifics. Once LTE is up and running have the iphone nestled snuggly on that wonderful 4g pillow.
...
IPhone just got sms texting, just added blue tooth music. Yeah a real advanced phone. At&t service stinks here. We just shifted all of the company over to Verizon because you couldn't go a block here with out a dropped call. It's not like we are out in the middle of no where. South Bend (Notre Dame) Indiana. Less than 7o miles from Chicago and you can't get a signal on the tollroad 70% of the time.
By the way is this the only phone the having going for themselves? The don't spend nearly the air or TV time for any none "Apple" phone?"
...
You are correct, South Bend is not in the middle of nowhere. You have to go about 50 miles past nowhere to get to South Bend...
...
You are so corect. I have a bad habit of making a left and run into nowhere. 🤣
...
Wrong. I will choose the droid over the iphone. But only if, after it is released, after I see if there are problems, issues, and it does what I want, I am satisfied that it is worth the purchase. For some of the real world, buying a phone because it's the IT phone is a waste of time and money. Verizon mad? They could care less.
...
That's quite possibly the most ignorant thing I have ever heard. Roughly 25% of all iPhone users are ex-Verizon customers....
"They could care less"
You must have been absent the day they taught economics in school.
Simply amazing...
If they don't care - how come every new phone is touted as the "iPhone killer"?
I am often amazed, nay, astounded at how dumb people are. I guess I shouldn't be at this point....
...
Verizon isn't likely mad, but they should care. According to Wireless Week, VZW added 1.2 million subscribers in the 3rd quarter. AT&T added 1.28 million NEW iphone users in the same time frame. I don't know about you, but I would be concerned.
you know i hear you will be able to send a picture message right out of the box with this one...just like my lg 6000 6 years ago.
But yeah your right the iPhone is awesome.
I hear they will be releasing a new one next year.... exact same phone but it will be the iphone 3m... The M is for memory card.
Iphone is cool, but you need to put down the coolaide
...
Yeah! The iphone IS cool! Not for every one. If you do not want one...that is your prerogatve, but don't try to talk it down. I want to have the choice of the iphone on Verizon. Yeah!
Ode to a bitter Blackberry owner...
Why are so many of you so bitter at the iPhone? Are you just trying to convince yourself that you don't want it more than your Blackberry? First of all, don't complain that it doesn't have a physical keyboard as this is absolutely idiotic. The lack of a keyboard is not inherently superior or inferior - it just is. If you prefer a phone with a keyboard, get a phone with a keyboard. No one ever claimed that the iPhone was the most practical business use phone (though it has won awards touting this quality). The iPhone has a couple VERY basic qualities that make it THE phone to own. Elegance and simplicity. I have owned nearly every single Blackberry that has been made including the Storm and the T...
Well said. I'd rather have my iphone over some crippled phone that verizon has. I get full coverage everywhere and no droped calls. You people just bash it cuz, your trying to convince pepole verizon is better. You can say all you want, heck you could pay me a million dollars and i would never switch to verizon.
LONG LIVE THE IPHONE. 🙂
...
Yes, it's difficult to drop calls when they don't even go through.
...
I'm convinced Verizon is better already. That is why I am clamoring for an iphone on Verizon.
...
Here, here! I want an iphone! I want an iphone! And I don't want to switch! I will just had to wait it out. You have most certainly convinced me with your eloquence. I simply MUST have this device...when Verizon gets it. Someday. I hope.
