I'm getting rid of my **** Blackberry Storm for this.

Looks like a nice device. Nice to see Verizon move in the right direction.

Great features, but I'm surprised they went with such a boring design. Admittedly, there's not much you can do with a full screen touch phone, but black and rectangular doesn't draw much attention.

But... the back and the "chrome" around the keys is Gold.

I think it looks like something from a retro-future, which I like personally.

Attn? It's a frinkin phone!!! Not a sports car!
You seem to be cought up in pop culter or something, like your a celebrity and somebodies going to take your picture in public with this phone.

You want a phone that's flashy, go to the mall and get one of those corny skins that has a bunch of fake diamonds or whatever. THIS phone has something called FEATURES!!!

Actually, personally I don't care much about looks. I was speaking more from a marketing standpoint. They're marketing it as an iPhone killer and the iPhone's rep is as much or more about flash than features.

Well, Verizon is certainly doing a good job of marketing it. I don't have any doubt that this phone will do quite well. But your the one who works in the industry, not me, so you think more from a selling point of view, where as I think from an individual consumer point of view.

You think Verizon will price it at what is now the standard smartphone price, $199?

Recently, the iphone unfortunately review after review, has now been allocated as just a device with apps. Nothing more. It can't function on it's own. It needs apps to perceive itself as a feature phone.

Cool. I agree. Yet, I believe I would like to have the choice of purchasing an iphone on Verizon's network.

I would like the choice also. While the Iphone does have its short falls, the simplicity of the interface makes it very easy to use.

AT&T sold 3.2 million iphones in the third quarter (new acts and upgrades). One would hope that Verizon would want to get in on that action.

Verizon doesn't need the iPhone. Considering that they're still doing better than AT&T despite not having it is quite impressive.

If anybody needs the iPhone right now to save their a$$es, it would be Sprint and that's never gonna happen lmao

Your epic rants against Sprint, always prove you're even less than precocious. What you need is a large Binky.

lol. I could care less what I phone looks like, as long as it's not in the shape of a pretzel or butterfly. From a physical perspective, it's all about weight, size, and functionality (practicality)

If you're looking to draw 'attention' with a phone, you've got some problems.

It takes all kinds of people to make the world go 'round. You might not place a priority on a phone's looks (neither do I, honestly) but others do. When I sold phones. I had customers who wanted a pink phone and that was their main concern. I didn't try to talk them out of it because I thought that was silly. I showed them our pink phones.

Very true. Oddly enough, I worked at Sprint for three years from 02 - 05 and I remember the Blue and Pink Sanyo 8100 phones. People demanded these colored phones despite the lack of functionality compared to other phones of a similar price point. I could never understand why people made such a big deal about the looks of their phone. From my standpoint that's the LAST selling point of a phone. So if there was a Motorola Droid, and an HTC 'Droid', all of the same hardware and price, I suppose I'd pick the 'prettier' one.

Like having a camera with an actual flash, and I'm impressed that it has image stabilization that's a nice feature. And as recently as the MyTouch HTC STILL refuses to put a damn 3.5 jack in ALL their smartphones. Thus far there is no Android device that can compete with the Droid.

There's a 3.5mm jack in the hero ;)

I know this is mostly about Android, but I am just absolutly SHOCKED that the Touch Pro 2 didn't have a flash on the camera!!! That button that is used for conferencing and turns the phones speaker on could have just as easily doubled as a flash.

I'm pretty sure the HTC Pure has a whopping 5mp camera WITH NO flash!!!!! What is the deal with HTC?!!!?

You got me.. but if a flash is the biggest miss on a phone, im ok with it. They're usually crappy anyway.

(and you're correct, the pure *and hero* have flashless 5.0 mp cameras)

Pehaps the greatest contribution HTC has made is TouchFLO & SenseUI, but other than that, perhaps HTC is overhyped.

Having a hero as my first HTC phone, im pretty impressed with not only the sense ui, but also the build quality. The only phone I havent liked from them was the touch.

Could they make more popular choices about what they do/do not put in their phones? Sure. But then no phone is going to be perfect in everyones eyes.

I like the looks of it. (I also like the gold trimmings)

I also like how the Alias2, the G1, and the euroHero look.

a phone doesn't have to look like an iphone to look good to everyone.

According to the leaked spec page that was on Motorola's site, its not gold, its "Licorice with BROWN SUGAR accents" 🤣 I'm betting its a delicious phone.
