Rediculous claims.

Either way, all it will take to win this is taking an iphone...playing with it, using it for a few days and then testing a Nokia and the victor will be clear. Honestly, why did it take 3 years to make these claims and how can Nokia possibly have a patent on something phones universally need to have to operate on GSM? Isn't that technically trying to create a monopoly?

I doubt Nokia and their army of attorneys filed suit without merit. Nokia is not known for frivolous lawsuits. If Nokia became aware of patent infringement they had a duty to protect their rights.
Considering how lawsuit happy Apple is in protecting their intellectual property it could not happen to better people.
And if you do not think this will have traction and Apple will pay go ask RIM/Blackberry about patent infringement. I believe they just finished paying off the $400M judgment they incurred from patent violations they did not take seriously.
Have a nice day Mr. Jobs.

Cribbing others' technology is Apple's most enduring corporate attribute.

I'd wager that Mr. "I'm an apple" manages to shave and don a tie before his court appearance.

They are suing because Apple didn't purchase the rights to use the technology like every other cellphone producer.

This is exactly like Psystar (sp) making computers that run OSX., actually it's worse because Nokia actually gives permission to other companies to use the tech they develop.
