because it's on verizon's network and I'm sure they've tampered with the o/s and crippled it like all their other phones. Speaking from experience as a former sub with vzw so please cool your jets fanboys 🤣

I wouldn't want it because it is a Motorola. I don't know that Google is going to allow any tampering with its OS either. Also the only crippling with VZW smartphones in the past was with GPS. They denied it but that is BS. I really hated taking those calls, too.

1. This is a "With Google" device meaning motorola and Verizon are not allowed to touch anything with the OS. This is stock android.

2. You obviously haven't paid attention to the past several years of smart phone releases. Please tell me what smart phone had their OS crippled?

That "Verizon cripples the UI!" argument stopped working years ago, you might want to find some new material.

Then how do you explain HTC adding Sense UI to the Hero? Or Motorola adding "MotoBlur"?😉

those phones don't have "With Google" tag.

They are not google devices, they are android devices.

You do not know what the heck you're talking about, my Sprint Hero says, "with Google on the back", the box does as well.

Give it up! Menno never talks out of both sides of his mouth. Sometimes you have to accept a loss and move on. This is one of those times.

Not sure how to follow that comment, are you saying I should except a loss and give it up? He is clearly wrong, or, did I miss the sarcasm?

Here is a screen shot of the back of a CDMA Hero:

No "with google" tag like the one seen clearly on the screenshots of the Droid, or the G1 https://www.phonescoop.com/phones/phone.php?p =1763

"With Google" shows up on stock UI phones.

Here is a picture which shows "with Google": http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media /2009/09/sprint_hero05.jpg

HTC decided not to add "with Google" on earlier produced models. All of the newer Hero's have "with Google." It is a Google device!

sorry, I was confused as to the wording. "with google" is not what you are looking for, it is "Google Experience" device that requires Stock UI.

So I'm sorry for the confusion. I originally thought "with google" was the modifier between google experience devices and android phones.

Quit while your... NOT-ahead, what do you think "Google Experience" is? It is completely open. If The Hero was not Google Experience, HTC would not have been able to put Sense UI on it. Google told HTC to provide an option for the user to disable Sense UI, which HTC did. Once Sense UI is disabled, then it is stock Google.

Google experience is something Google gives to their devices. Having sense UI on a phone (as great as that overlay is, seriously i love the look of it) makes it different from a phone that ships with JUST stock android.

If you saw what I was responding to, I was saying that this device is StockUI, and BECAUSE it was stockui arguing that verizon would "Cripple" the phone. Since Flip mode refuses to look at any new phones that came out in the past couple of years, I used the one argument (that it was google stock UI) that he hopefully would understand.

You really need to calm down and take a break from your crowing because what you're arguing about has nothing to do with the original thread.

Those are manufacturer-installed interfaces, not carrier-installed ones...

Forgot to add, Google/Android are part of the open alliances/platform.
