That's not all together true. Not to say that it couldn't happen or isn't planned, but a lot of the time, one company will do something and the others will follow suit just because they have to. So, for example, T-Mobile launched their unlimited plan first and all the carriers were forced to match it to stay in competition. Same goes with the MyCircle. AT&T was late to the game on that.
But then again, it's worked the reverse way. Sprint was the first to up the charge of text messaging in both PAYG and a standard plan. Everyone else followed suit to charge more.

all the carriers for their outrageous messaging rates when it costs them nothing to provide SMS and MMS. For these guys to sue anyone for overcharging is ridiculous. They are going to hell with gasoline boxers on.
