try to crack/break your pdaphone screen.
and it will cost you over 150$ to replace LCD! you tell me is that price fixing or not. over 150$ just to replace a 2.8" LCD screen? you can get a 19" LCD monitor for 150buk!

It's really hard to say if that's price fixing or not, you've only given one example. It would be price fixing if you went to several manufacturers and they all had the same price for the screen, but it still wouldn't be enough. They would have to show that they all colluded and agreed upon that higher price.

exactly. Saying that the prices are high is VERY different from saying the prices were fixed.

ATT is saying the prices were fixed.

It is also very different to buy a loose LCD as a spare part vs. buying bulk LCDs to manufacture phones.

Is that for real? There is a cell phone repair place that charges 40 bucks for alot of phones and that includes labor.

Um Sprint charges $120 to fix a pda style phone with physical damage and $100 to fix a standard phone. The last time I checked the majority of manufacturers make phones for both companies.

You are forgetting something major... Labor. When you buy a 19" LCD monitor you are not paying anyone labor to install the screen. HOWEVER, when you pay to have a screen replaced, you are typically paying not only for the materials (the screen), but also for the time it takes to do the work. $100/hr is not uncommon. In fact, it's actually a pretty low figure by todays standards. And no, they don't bill you 1/2 of the $100 if it only took them 30 min. T...
