New way to store...?

It's cool that they were able to restore the data, but I am wondering if they are going to find a way to store everything to the phone itself and just use the servers to back up the data...Seems like a smarter thing to do.

I still don't understand this Sidekick stuff, does the Sidekick not on board memory? Besides GSM phones have the ability to store contacts on the sim card.

u can but on the sidekick u have to go through and save them all on the sim card 1 by 1. and if u have more than 250 numbers u cant store them all

they need to make a way to do an easy back up on the computer like u can back up info on a blackberry.

or an idea i like even better is an easy way to back them all up on ur memory card. i have only seen one type of phone that actually does that. and it was one of my old sony Ericson's. i would like to see that capability on more phones that would make it really easy to restore info in cases like this. or if u just decided to change phones.

Why doesn't Nokia bring the N95 to the states and toss it on a GSM Network? I always wanted that phone but I wont pay $300+ for it off Ebay.

:/ Oh well. Hey Jayshmay, check out the Nokia Aeon and the Nokia Morph. Sick, sick phones.

I've heard of the Nokia Morph, but I've never heard of the Aeon. Did you hear Nokia lost a whopping $834M in the past qtr? Yikes! ! !

Don't blame Nokia for AT&T not picking the N95 up,
!!BLAME!! AT&T and they're control games! I heard a rumor a while back that AT&T wanted Nokia to minus the GPS from the N95, and Nokia wouldn't do it. I've been using the N95 for 2 months shy of 2yrs now, I love this phone!!!

I'm sure by now you can find a N95-3 on ebay for under $300. The E75 is $369 on Amazon.

I blame Nokia because AT&T is not the only GSM Network they can offer this phone to.

$834M? You sure? Damn near a Trillion? Any reports of Nokia Employees jumping out of windows along with those numbers? Fudging A!

Stop trying to influence me into getting a N95. I have already parted ways with my want for the phone and re-united with my need to save money. At least, thats what I tell myself to convince myself not to spend close to $300 just to see if I actually like the phone as much as I like the specs and hype around it.

It is a very nice phone. May it provide you with many more years of great functionality. 🙂

You can transfer contacts from the SIM to the Phone but not from the Phone to the SIM. Oddly, this is the same for BlackBerries and Current Android devices (+ other phones).

Most smart(type)-phones today (including SideKicks) don't have the ability to save contacts on the SIM for some reason.

With the Sidekick, its all on a server because if they placed it on the phone, whatever you have on the phone would remain their if you bought another phone.

Lets say for example you bought a game on your Sidekick from the Sidekick App store. Then you upgrade from a SideKick 2008 to a SideKick LX2009. The game you bought would be on your 2008. Lost to you now. You couldn't get a credit for it because its still on the other phone, which you can ...
