Why pay that much for a Netbook ? Why Become A slave to the Telecoms ?

Seriously, if you want a netbook, just pay cash for it. Go to your favorite electronic place, microcenter, walmart, bestbuy, ebay, whatever, and pick up a good netbook. The cost should not exceed $350 . Then choose whatever telecom you want. Why would you want to commit yourself to a data plan for 2 yrs anyway , just of the pleasure of surfing on the same netbook ? I have a 10 inch netbook, and surfing on it is ok, but nothing like a real laptop. Ofcourse portability is why your getting it, but I think you need atleast atleast 11" to get a good experience. I love nokia products but why pay $299 + contract of 60/month x24months == 1739 . Most of you guys already have a data plan on your phone so it makes more sense to just tether away. Also,...

Buying the booklet 3G outright doesn't make you a slave. If you already have a 3G data plan you can simply insert your sim and it will work. It is hot swapable so you don't have to carry your 3G USB modem. That is the beauty of having built-in 3G. Nothing sticking out and instant 3G. One data plan can be used on many devices, just not at the same time. So you can upgrade your device next year and still use either one you want by swapping sims.
