I wonder if it is available for full retail without AT&T's embedded 3G radio?

It comes with the 3G radio. Hence the name 3G. The question I have is it locked to AT&T or sim unlocked. That makes a big difference to me.

Even if it is unlocked the 3G will only work on ATT, cause of the 850/1900 bands.

If it is unlocked it will work with T-Mobile but not it's 3G, only EDGE. It will work with Roger's in Canada and in a lot of other countries with just a sim swap if it is unlocked. That might not be useful to most but for international business travelers it is very useful.

Then it is not like the Acer netbooks. If I am willing to pay full retail then odds are that I am never going to use it with AT&T. It just seems like a waste of space.
