So only a select few.....? Why not everyone that own's a sidekick....? What about the pay as you go sidekick users? For years I have gave Tmo credit for leading the way in service...Take that back now..I was thinking about getting the Motorola Cliq this has changed my mind

Read the full statement. Anyone affected... that's all Sidekick owners. And the pay as you go are getting at least some reimbursement, but its only $10. Would you find a better deal than what T-Mobile reimbursed its customers? I think not. They are giving them $100 on top of giving them a month's free service. Would AT&T, Verizon, or Spring do something like this if it happened to one of their phones? I think not. The iphone's service has seen several outages and not a penny has been officially reimbursed...

No one else has a phone that backs up info like this. My blackberry will not lose all it's data because of an outage. I have all my info backed up with Desktop manager. It it is wiped accidentally then I can perform a restore.

There are pros and cons to both types of systems. If you lose your blackberry and don't have it backed up with desktop manager then everything is gone too. And if Sidekick users ever opened their manual they would see there is a desktop utility that will allow you to backup their data on their own PC that they can download online. So yeah, MS/Danger caused the outage and lost everyone's data on the server. T-Mobile is the carrier and is the face of the problem. But users could have backed up their data themselves just like any other phone, but they didn't...

See this is my problem it should be all not just a few that get 100.00 and a free month of service. You right they could havce back it up there self but what about those who dont have pc's and so on. The whole world does not own a pc so they count on the service that they were told would back it up for them. Where is the line in the sand? Tmo is on the decline and this is not helping at all.

I really feel bad for T-Mobile. They are going to get the blame for something that was not their fault. I was unaware that this device has a Desktop utility. They need to end this online backup utility after they get out of this mess and probably stop selling this device. They will probably have to grandfather existing users due to the contracts or what have you though. I would end sales of this immediately.

Actually yes, they would, AT&T gave my daughter a $35 itunes card because a 24 hour delay in activation of her iPhone this past June. Still I will say this, its a nice touch on TMO's part...

They are reffering to sidekick users who are subscribed to data, and those customers whose info has been permanently lost. It's probably for the best you changed your mind, with a attitude like that youd just be another problematic customer for tmobile to deal with.

That's fine you maybe right I been with Tmobile sense there 1st Sony Phone that you had to add the camera to so I think more should be done. They have slipped in Service anyway maybe this was the sign to get out of there..
